1 Ton YJ Build

Just move the upper shackle mount hole higher in the frame and back a bit. May even need slightly longer shackle. It will fix the spring geometry and lower the rig down too.
I think the way it is now may bend a spring.

Yup. The frame contact appears to be fixable with a little bit longer shackle. The angle does look good though, otherwise.

Thats one good thing. But I think the shackles are too long as it is, I would rather notch the frame than fun a even longer shackle.

That would totally wreck that nice flexy shackle swing though...

I set up the front to hang a nice angle at ride height so it would be a smoother ride, i dont think 55* is too much shackle angle at ride height

I dont see how I could bend springs with it setup like this unless I was bottoming out on the frame, which I will fix.

I thought you said that the spring was bottoming out at the same time it hit the bump stop? The bump stop is far from the limit of travel.

I was being a dumbass. The initial setup wasnt right, but I'm gonna fix it. My experience is limited and I'm learning as I go.

frame notched, problem solved. The front end sits lower than the rear so I think I will cut up the back end and redo the shackle mounts, no biggie, get a better angle out of them also...

wow.. half way thru the frame? personaly, looking at it, id chop the body mount off temeraraly, then plate the sides atleast 6" f/r of it then redo the body mount.

but thats just me......

only so many hours a night, plus I wanna get my a pillar stringer finished so I can cut off the body mount

I take back what I said, those front shackles are too short :eek2:

And you better reinforce the holy hell out of the frame where you notched it, yikes...
