• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

12V versus 24V cummins 5.9L

I am waaayyyy happy with my 02 24v

4" exhaust
edge with attitude
intake

Crazy power, more than I will ever need, usually tow on setting 2 outta 5

I do know the tranny will someday puke, then its a upgrade

its even getting 24.5mpg unloaded on the freeway.

yeup, he will be very happy with either or.. But the basic mods are definitely a must.. :awesomework:

With an auto 24V? (even a five speed?) Do you add a little magic to the fuel tank every time you fill up? Hmmm.... There are about 13 of us that hang around together with dodges and crawlers. Most of us are diesel engine mechanics. There is only one dude with a 96 on propane that even gets close to that number and he drives like a grandma on the way to church.... always. Maybe you have propane and a five speed? My best # 19.4 mpg. That is with the old setup. Now..... 17.5.... maybe.

Do you have a link for BD.Ive already looked at Pac:hi:

Either way you go both are excellent quality, and are well worth the money spent:awesomework: I would also recommend going straight to a 4" inline brake, as it give you more options in the future for turbo upgrades:cheer:

Propane's for the BBQ:looser:

I've seen a few 3rd gens do that pretty easy.. Not exactly common for a 2nd gen 24 valve.. the 2wd auto 12 valves (even pretty well modified) can get close to 30 mpg no problem..

also....what do you guys think of the mid to late ninteys Fords with a Stick and the 7.3L? good truck bad truck?

Pretty much any 7.3 is a rock solid foundation... Their excellent motors, and last forever... well not as long as the cummins, but still pretty dang long...

that looks like a great rig just remember that with an auto youll probly have to upgrade it sooner or later, all depends on your driving style and power upgrades u do:D

4 door auto I would get a ford of chev. I'm happy with my F250 at nearly 200,000 miles.
But then again I'm not hardcore.:flipoff:
