Dont Tread On Me
Since this is behind "closed" doors.bigsilly said:Bittersweet I know... I cannot begin to imagine letting go of something that you put so much into. These projects like this become part of your life and letting go is not always easy, but there is always the next project waiting.
OMG yes, I loved that car. But we could not get **** to ever get on the same page. I have learned one thing through the past 3 years.
The only people who say what they mean, mean what they say, do what they say they'll do, and not **** it up in some form or fashion is Spridertrax, and Rick Mooneyham
I had a good text stream with Loren yesterday on my way home from San Antonio and he on his way home from Fallon. I dont get how his **** stays together, is correct and works consistently. NAME!
For lack of starting a who ****ed up thread. I take a lot of blame. We basically built a car that was over the comprehension of our little pea brains. More travel, more hp, new problems. But the lions share would have been averted had suppliers provided what they charged for. From what I have derived "Quality Control" is a thing of the past, and totally on the customer.
What took me and Miles out at the Mint. the slip on the rear yoke welded itself in 45 miles in the long position and shoved the pillow block forward a 1/2"
Seems crazy! but its regular in Trophy Truck. you need to engineer your rear links so there is near zero plunge. +100mph over miles and miles of 2-3' deep whoops molten slip even when it was greased and new. Makes sense, but who does that in Ultra4???
What took Wacker out was an alternator, a 45 miles on it new at the green flag alternator, that didnt go but 150 race miles.
Bittersweet for sure. Sad to see a baby go, but glad shes gone, and glad the money is in my account. Onward and upward!
