555 "Black Betty"

What seats did you end up going with on this build? A saw a post about Sparco's from UPR. If that is correct, what model? Did you go with the UPR seat cushion? Comfortable? Do it again?

Sorry I never saw this thread pop to the top.
Mastercraft 3g's, one in stock height, one in a +2 height.

I was going to go with the then new Sparco Ergo's because the large was supposed to be able to fit a 6' driver. After months and months of them still not being in stock after they were released I layed up and put the Mastercrafts in.

I wanna know about the "Pothole Assain."

Whatchu wanna know?

Its my daily driver. 2013 Chevy crew w/6.2l and leather. Black/black. Bought it in early Sept with 19k or so on it.
Ordered tires/wheels, fenders, and Mazzulla Full Race front suspension and Rear cantilever setup, then called King and ordered all that BS in the first week.
Finally by Mid-November everything had showed up, and we tore into it just before Thanksgiving. Pulled it out of the shop a few days after Xmas.

18" Front travel, 17.75" rear travel, fun ass truck to drive.

So does it still Turn like a BUS :fish:
Its pretty bad. The GM rack has way more throw than the kit can use. Unfortunately turning radius is a tradeoff. The only way to have full turning radius would be to mount the uniball horizontal.
But then you would only be able to get 14" of wheel travel. To get more travel you have to run the Uniball vertical which means you only get 30 degrees of steering, but you get 18" of wheel travel.

So I have 30 degrees. It aint great. But I only notice it in my driveway, on U-turns and in my parking garage. Everywhere else you dont even get close.

Cool, Truck is awesome and I am sure I would get in lots of trouble if it was mine. Any plans for more power?

its over 400hp stock, I had to put a AFE air intake on it because of the fender cutting. Then deleted the resonator portion of exhaust, because of the cantilever. So its pretty free flowing right now, and really throaty. It sounds great.
To bring everything back in check (speedo/shifts), its been efiLive'd
With the 4.88's it will throw you back in the seat.
But real hate is developing toward the "Traction Control" and "Stabilitrak". I dont think there is any permanent way to turn them off, aside from just pulling the fuse. That also kills the ABS, and lights the dash up like a Xmas tree. It kicks in the worst time, popping out into traffic from a stop. Its dumb, it idles the damn thing, and has nearly got me ass'ed. You can disable them on the dash, but they come back on once you get over 35mph of wheel speed.

Now driving it, I'm getting pretty confident in it. I tossed it into a turn on Monday over 60mph, and it hunkered and dug through the turn like a sportscar would. By the time I passed the apex and looking at the exit I was well into the gas accelerating. Was pretty good to feel that it didnt want to body roll, or wash the rearend out. Pretty amazing for how big it is.
As for jumping, I've really only jumped it once so far. might have had 6-8" (I'd be surprised if it was more) under the tires but carried it for what had to be about 50' jumping some traintracks. Potholes, asphalt patches, **** roads, intersections it pretty much rocks out on.

I would for sure get in trouble around here driving that as a DD. A bad ass truck for sure.

Damn good time is what it was, right up until the point where my exhaust started pushing the coolant out of my cooling system and it getting hot.

We qualified pretty good, 7th in Class1, and 28th overall, out of 90ish. Fastest 4wd, so faster than Campbell. But I'm wasnt happy with it, I left a ton of time on the track. Only got to see the shortcourse that we started on for the first time 20 minutes prior, and only parade lapped on it, not full pace to see how I would jump and land. Turn 3 I bicycled for a long time, but the video doesnt do it justice. Then I drive out of a roll around 2:00 in that took a chunk out of my hood.

Sorry about the audio on the qualifier, PCI fixed if before the main race.

Two cool vids. The first is just a long fast pull down a straight. We got up in the 120's here with some decent holes, but you'd never know it, this is the point we discovered we had a cooling problem. The second is just some cool passes on some 6100 trucks (short armed TT's with crate high HP LS3's).

Bittersweet I know... I cannot begin to imagine letting go of something that you put so much into. These projects like this become part of your life and letting go is not always easy, but there is always the next project waiting.
