like i said, do it complete, go with a 5.5 re lift, includes everything you need and i believe its all bolt on too, it will be much easyier this way and probally a lil cheaper

i agree with you, if this is your first lift, and you don't know what everything does, don't try to make your own. get a kit

u think it will be cheaper to get the re 5.5 lift strait off their website rather than pairing pieces of lifts together with the re lift. (im just asking lots of questions so i understand what everyone talks about)

Yeah you are on the verge of long arm land now. If you go any higher in the future you are going to have to get the long arm kit seperate. If you got the money do it right. RE has a good long arm kit. Its going to be personal preference. You can see on here already that someone hates this one and some one hates the other one. You cant go wrong with RE so I suggest RE, best product all around. There is going to be a little more mechanics involved with a long arm kit. Also the SYE/ drive line combo is going to need a little mechanical experience.

if i use 1.5" boomerang shackles and 1.5" UBE with a 5.5" lift i will end up with net lift of 8", correct?
Is this 8" just in the back of my XJ because thats where the leafs are, so my XJ would sit higher in the back than the front because the front would still be 5.5", correct?

that depends on the size of tires you are going to run. i'm not 100% sure what stock xj's come with. i'm guessing something like a dana 30/chrysler 8.25 or a dana 30/dana 35 set up...i don't know too much about the 8.25 but you definatly don't want to pass 33" on a dana 35 or you are asking for trouble..and LOTS of it lol
