That Ford Guy
How solid is the trans in it? Body/interior shape? That would play into my decision to put a motor in it...
What do you want for it as is?

So, we went to get the aforementioned dead Focus from Waggly Creek and got out first chance to really look at the head.
Well, the valves all seem to be well set in place. None are broken. The odd thing is, the #4 head looks like someone took something to it and beat the living crap out of it. The rim is busted. and this is probably why there's some metal pieces in the cylinder on top of the piston. But there isn't anything that looks like it could have caused all this damage.
Someone is going to say that these metal pieces could have done this, but I'm not sure. I wonder if one of these pieces got in there and seized #4 piston?
Now, from what we can tell, the timing belt is intact. All the teeth are there. The gears look good too. So we're not sure what happened to make the engine self-destruct now.
This is just odd.... I've never seen anything like this before.
I take it you mean the #4 piston top???Pics, pics, pics, pics!!!So, we went to get the aforementioned dead Focus from Waggly Creek and got out first chance to really look at the head.

Did maybe someone do some work on it prior and accidently drop a bolt or something in the intake? Maybe it made its way into #4
Valve seat....No, I'm not sure of the technical term for where the valves sit in the head, in the dome. But that is where the damage is, except for the assorted holes in the cylinder walls....

I know you didn't do anything, Kevin. But you're the only person that's done any real work on the car since we bought it.
And hell no. I'm not blaming anybody for this. We're just as mystified as the first shop as to why this happened.
The Focus would be back up there right now, if you had the time to work on it and we had the time to get it there... Yeah, we trust you. And you're cheap. We just need to bring a  or :beer: :awesomework:
Tranny shop just did servicing to the transmission. Said everything looks good and strong.
We're going to have the place that has the car now look in #4 and see if he can see anything that shouldn't be there and maybe find out where it may have come from. If we can get pictures, I'll email them to zukkev or Joop for posting.
Sound good?
Yes, I'm cheap, but I'll probably 'donate' to the the cause next month so I can post my own pictures.
Kevin, Joop.
I can forward them to you. I just need your email addresses!
According to the shop the valve seat came loose. Dropped into the cylinder and thats why the engine went TU.
Pictures are really cool. can't wait for you all to see the damage from one little piece of metal in a cylinder.
