Dynamite Design - AC / 2xRT

I have been sitting back quietly watching all of this unfold. I know as much as about this entire project as anyone as I have been behind the scenes with Pops and Adam the entire time. This is a sad situation because I really had faith that David would be able to pull it off. I remember when Adam sent me the very first design, long before anything was ever posted here. It was a great looking design and what is was being built now is nothing like what was drawn out in the beginning. I have encouraged Adam a while now to see this through but yesterday was when I lost all confidence in it and agreed with Adam it was time to pull the plug before any more time and money was wasted. It is really a shame because this could have been such a great project for David to get out there with his name on it because whatever Adam is in he is going to drive it hard and with the right parts like he has now he will put it out front.

It is really a bad deal for both parties involved. I really believe David has the skills to do the work, he just needs direction. It may be that he needs to work for the man and not be the man. As for Adam, he will bounce back. It will just take a little more time now.

It doesn't take as much guts to go out on your own, when you don't really have that much to lose. Now he'll go right back under somebody's wing, just as he was before, being fed direction and doing sufficient fab work. I'm sure he lost some money on the whole deal, but was it substantial? We already know some guy bought him $5k worth of **** to work with, so it ain't like that money came out of his pocket.

As I looked through the "vendor section" on Hardline, he had a post up about "bomber nation". I figured if Randy could trust David, I could too. I contacted David about building a DOM chassis and he led me on to believe that he could build something similar, but this is far from it.

That drawing on page 1 is nothing more than a fancy napkin doodle. Did you see those jankity ass trailing arms? What about the seat sitting over the motor so you can warm your ass? How about that abortion of a monster tube truss on the axle housing? I'm guessing those little details were not discussed. Not to mention it still doesn't look like the screen drawing. Why he did not just assemble a bomber and call it a day is beyond me but I guess this is all part of his master plan to show us how far ahead of the curve he is.

Everything that has been done was not in our discussions. Why try to reinvent the wheel when it works?
 
I hope David can sleep better than I can. I won't sleep until I get what's left of my parts. This is a huge financial and time set back for me. It will take me several months to bounce back from this. I feel like I should have an almost complete car and be racing soon. I guess I am starting from scratch
 
I never for once would have trusted Dynamite to build me so much as a go-cart or a pedal car, much less a timeline sensitive, intricate, top performing buggy. There are some things that are just no-brainers, where it is always wise to go with a reputable business to ensure you get what you want. If so much was at risk, needed by a deadline, now the deadline wasn't met and it's catastrophic, etc., I still can't see why Dynamite was trusted with this build. I had bet from the start that this would be a fail. I haven't seen him/them build **** on their own that has impressed me.

I don't really know Mr. Carter, and props to him for giving a new business the chance at opportunity. That's good and all, but that would be better suited if he were building a buggy for recreation only, with no tedious deadlines to meet. I mean you just don't give some no name kid the responsibility of that magnitude when you need **** to get done and be right, especially when he/they have no background of products he/they have finished on their own.

Tough deal, but I just can't allow myself to be overly sympathetic here, because common sense should have been a red flag not to trust Dynamite with this build, from the start.

Just going to take a stab but his brand new parts have been partially installed, bare housing now has some ****ed up truss welded all over it, I don't know any builders that start a project with no money down for tube and labor. And they're is probably even more to the story I don't know. Either way I'm sure Adam lost plenty and it appears got ****ed with no lube by a bullshit artist extraordinaire that should be cleaning toilets at Walmart

That other build posted on NC4x4 is mine. The original idea was to do a full chassis but decided against it for multiple reasons, hence the completely different look from the drawings.

The build is going mostly like I want. However, I'm only a couple of hours away from David and have made multiple visits to discuss details, etc. my original chassis was salvaged from the fire and all I did was rework the seating area and transfer case mount and rear shock mounts. Obviously the cell and rear storage area had to be reworked but most of the work is as expected.

I've trusted David and will continue to do so until I'm screwed. I think what has been working for me is that I make frequent visits and the scope of work was minor compared to Adam, plus my rig will be a recreational rig and doesn't have a major deadline.

Adam, I'm sorry your experience isn't working out for you and I hope you get your buggy finally built.

Josh, I'm glad as hell that you finally posted something. Since you and I talked, I have had people tell me that you're a liar and things didn't really go down like you said they did. I've also had people tell me that I purposely set David up because I wanted him to fail so that I could put him out of business. This, of course, despite the fact that you and I had pretty much identical experiences, and now the same story has played out with several other clients.

You can't feel guilty about what happened to anyone else. We're all adults, and we fell for the same line.

I hate that it happened, but I hope we can all move on. I figure that I might have our junk straightened out in another few months to the point where my wife isn't afraid to drive it anymore. In the meantime, if I find something on our rig that is inexplicably f'd up, I have one word for it: dynamite.

Nah, that's just how they roll. You should see the solidworks model he sent me vs the first attempt or two in solid metal.

Wait, who are you in this jumbled up story of chaos? lol. Another money contributing Dynamite business funder that lost money also? :dunno: ???
 
Yup.

David and I parted ways both feeling like we got screwed. Given the situation, that seemed like the best possible outcome. I basically decided to only share my story with a few select friends based on David's promise that it would never happen again. But what happened to Adam is pretty much exactly what happened to everybody else that has ever tried to do business with David.

I like Rob, and I consider him to be a friend. I sincerely hope that he doesn't have the same experience that the rest of us have had.
