GAP - ECORS Race -Auburn, AL - May 19, 2012

Jon said he would leave the gate open all night Thursday night for racers only. Friday night and Saturday night the gate will be closed between midnight and 7 am. The gate and entrance road is different from last year-the entrance is now about 100-200 yards sooner than the old entrance so don't pass it. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

If you plan to get around on the firebreak, it would be a good idea to bring an atv

I am planing to do some filming is there good access on foot or should I bring an ATV ?

All the access you want on foot, but it's a 3 mile loop on the course, so an atv might be good if you have access to one. I would say that there are 4 main areas to watch the race at it's best-the Powercrawl area, the Scat Track, The Stock Cage/Big Amazon, and then the start/finish line. Here's a link to the map of the park:

The Federal firebreak will be open for traffic in both directions this weekend, so be careful and watch out for oncoming traffic! Also, trucks will not be allowed in the woods area of the firebreak to the north of the Powercrawl area and powerline-ATV's only through there for this weekend.

Hell Yea, not going to make it, still trying to get ready for W4W at Morris the next weekend, to much chit going on.

Does the GAP have enough difficult trails/obstacles to warrant bringing a wheelin rig + race rig?

My race truck is pretty much terrible for any type of actual 'wheelin. (open front diff, stock gears, IFS etc)

I'm debating pullin the big trailer and bringing the buggy for riding before/after the race. ???

yea u need to get some of marks wall not to many has even made it the top ledge.

Yea, bring both! Marcs Wall if you're felling really brave. There are several others-Achilles Heel, the Trench, Sticks and Stones if fun-especially if it's wet, Spencers jaws, Dragrs bone, Courtney's revenge-most all of these have multiple lines too.

what ever ain,t done will just have to be winged at this point ;D

Man, weather is great! A little warm but it wouldn't be AL if it wasn't warm!

Course is a little more technical but is good. The park crew have made some good improvements (bridges, jumps, etc.) for the racers and have spent hundreds of hours getting ready for everyone!

Should be a good time!

Class U starts at 8am
Class B and C start at 10:30 am
Class A starts at 2pm

We have food available Saturday, camping is available, and more fun than you can handle!

We prefer everyone to come out and watch, but for anyone that can't make it, you can watch LIVE online at www.NC4x4.com
