HAHAHA, **** he just called me and was talking about how the front coilovers are going to mount under the hood still. He has the rad mounted as well and the CO mounts up front and CO's should be on today , given he doesnt actually work while he is at work :flipoff1:

Man another month and this thing should be nearing shakey down.

We need to figure out the front CO rates, anyone have any thoughts. Matt O if we get "per" corner measurements will you be able to figure this for us. I know you did a grip of research and I just dont have time right now. I think Joe has access to scales from one of his circle track buddies. The rear's are way stiff too, we need to spring it all the way around to get it "right"

Yeah measure it out and I can get you some info based, per corner measurements would be sweet and very helpful in fingering it out...

ok the front coilovers are in but the spring rate is way off it needs to drop another 4 to 5 inches so i now have 8 worthless springs both the front and rear need to be lower spring rates. on a good note they did fit under the hood .so if anyone has an idea let me know ???

Those arent worthless... they are like gold to poor people like me !!!! Can you still get a set of scales from your circle track buddy ? Lets take the guess work out of this deal and put some time in 8) That thing is getting so close man, dont let coils bother you !! :spin:

Hey Joe you don't even need scales if you get me some simple numbers I can get you some good info. Measure the length of each spring with weight on them as they sit on the vehicle now and give me the lengths of each spring. For the front it looks close to having everything there that will weigh it down (motor, hood, etc). For the rear you may need to add some weights to compensate for things like gas, tools/spares, and anything that is not yet on the buggy but will be. Pass me those numbers and we can figure the sprung weight per corner and start making some decisions on which springs to run.

You can send those springs back and get the right ones when the time comes, so you are not out the money. Stuart is cool about spring swapping and since those have never been run they are fine to swap out.

OK i came in this morning and took the coils off front and rear now the front has a 200 lb on top and 175 lb on bottom and it still need to go down 3 inches. the rear has 250 lb on top and 250 lb on bottom and it need to drop 6 inches then i will have to drop the rear mount to level out the buggy after all that is done it will have 4 inches off shaft showing at ride hight. the front has almost everything on it weight wise excpt the bump stops and winch and water in the radiator. i guess the buggy is lighter then i thought but that is a good thing. is it better to have a heavy spring on top and a light spring on bottom or a light spring on top and a heavy spring on bottom or does it matter. if i can send the spring back then i will need some boxes i think p has some in his garage

Measure the compressed lengths as it sits on the vehicle and send that to me, we can get you right. You generally run the heavier spring on the bottom and the lighter on top, the trick is figuring which rate and length to get

Yes I have some boxes saved that I would be more than willing to put forth on this. I love that this rig is getting down to the nitty gritty stuff. OX UM !!! :eat:

A few other bits of info I need are the distance between your upper and lower mounts (as they sit now) and how much lower (less distance between the two mounting points) you would like it to sit. Also how much up/down travel you would like per end.

the front is top 175lb bottom 200lb. the rear is top 250lb the bottom is 250 lb

on the front mounts from center to center is29 and 1 half. on the rear it's 32 and a half but the rear will have to be the same as the front to level the buggy once the springs are fixed i will make a mount for the rear at the same distance
