Kinda new idea...

Cool Idea, Shocks are cheap to rebuild. Seriously the shafts are only like 20 bucks and I am sure the shell isn't much more. Go for it.

I can actually see the thing trying to spit the shock in a rotational manner and fawking the upper hat off the body. other than that, don't know till you try and that's a badass idea. Its not my shock, I say do it!
besides, how much is a new body anyway.
what I would do to run with you cool idea:
extend just one side of you tube farther up the air shock, weld an eye on said extended tube, and put a small strut rod from chassis to tube to keep it aligned perfectly for a square bump strike and no top hat mess ups

kind of like the alignment stuts on lower links when you mount a shock on there with no bushing

I think it will work.

Worst case is you have to buy another POS 2" airshock to replace the one you bust to hell.

Why not make a bottom to the part that mounts to the shock so it actually rides on the part that the shaft slides in and out of? Not sure if that is a good explaination or not but...make it where it slides up the shock and also bottoms out on the housing like the shaft already does. Maybe this will help distribute the force. :dunno:

Buy two more air shocks and mount them upside down beside the existing ones.

Oh, Mtn City will get the beat down between now and Feb. for sure. Already been out and destroyed my junk (the run that made me swap the motor) so im just hoping the next run wont be as expensive. molaugh Josh, i know your just hatin' cause your rigs not done so i wont hold it against you. ;D

Let me know when you go, I have been wanting to take mine back there. My buddy andy busted an E fan, and my motor had no Oil PSI so we couldnt stay long.

On the fox'es thats where you rebuild those and i would be afraid it would damage that cap. All it is on the bottom is a cap that pops into place and is pretty cheesy IMO.

Greg, you got jokes too huh? :afro:

Marty, just let me know man. Like i said, hopefully next weekend we will hit it up.

You said your rig was a nathans shop. Is that the Nathan with the white reg cab dmax? Just wondering.

Toddy, no chance to test it this weekend, because i had to take the old motor back to charlotte. Did get my new bump cans in and braced together though. Have to build the bump pad for the other side and i will be ready to test in TN. next weekend. thumb.gif ORI's going on sale anytime soon? :flipoff1:

Yep, thats ole' Naterade. He drives like a fool man. I drive the blue dodge dually with blacked out rims that blows more black smoke than a coal train.

I fuigured that was your Cummins. Saw you buckin on some old guy in a Cummins with stacks. On 105 near bandanas one day...it was funny molaugh

laughing1 Haha Im pretty sure I was in front of them in the M3 that day. They were pacing each other all down 105.

BTW...I saw you passing the convocation center today Marty...great looking DMAX

Thanks, Don't you work at 1st tracks? I was there one day and saw your car. My buddy chris' parents own it.

THIS JUST IN! THEY FAWKIN' WORK! You heard it here first ladys and gents. Works like a champ after 45 mins of pretty damn hard jumping, hitting table tops etc. Will have to wait for the long term affects obviously but DAMN is it SOOOOOOO much better. No sliding on the shock, distortion of the shock body, bending of bolts, breaking rig in half, or loosing control and killing innocent bistandards. Now everyone go out and do it...its the new cool thing. :flipoff1: I will keep yall updated for sure...not out of shock carnage territory yet, but its looking very promising. booyang

All this took place at 1:30 AM so no pics or video tonight. I swear it happened though. thumb.gif

Beat it this weekend ALL weekend and let us know how it does. That would be sexy if it stands the beat down test of time. I love the asthetic advantages and the ease of packaging and hell adjustability for that matter. Very cool stuff if it last's thumb.gif
