crash2
-Oh no I picked a side-
Revamping will be done tommorow night and GAME ON--well beside my own rig still in pieces
WOW. I think we got scammed on the engine rebuild. This engine had a complete rebuilt and has never been run.

pretty sure somebody told you a lie on that one:booo:
No, I bought it from Jaydog, he didn't lie about it, but the shop that the dealt with did!
Ive seen that kind of damage to bearings after the shop used 10 under bearings on a standard crank....
That one cost me, last time I ever used that shop....
National Auto in Sumner did the rebuild. It's the big yellow building at the end of Main St., won't go there again. :eeek:
if its a new rebuild with 0 miles, how did the crank bearings get worn? did they just hot tank your old motor and paint it then give it back? sounds a little too fishy, even for national.:booo:
if this is a 0 mile engine, it looks like it was started with no oil?
what kind of wear does the cylinders have, do they look new?
so whos the sucker, gibby or jaydog? I have never heard anything bad about national, kinda weird?:eeek:
The cylinders have new hone marks--so it was done. The camshaft bearings also looked new.. From what I could tell it was done...
No it has never been fired. I don't think sucker would be a good term, I have never disassembled an engine that I have had rebuilt just to check the job, I assumed that National, having their own machine shop, and having been in business a long time, that I wouldn't have to check their work, I would expect this out of someones garage or backyard, but not with them. I'm trying to find the paperwork, but it has been three+ yrs since it was done.thats strange. the rods and pistons and crank had to be removed to hone/bore the block. how do the rod journals look? does it look like it has been fired at all? even shortly, did the cam have assembly lube still or had it been washed away? do you think it had been test fired?

It was never test fired. Jaydog and I finished putting on the intake, carb etc. We didn't even put the distributor in it. It's never been hooked to fuel even.
