• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

MUCHADO's Toyota build...

Your SV and several other budget minded starter bike is derived from teh Hawk son...

They only made Hawks for like 3 years and although they were great lil bikes they sales were poor in the age of "the modern" sportbike revolution. ie everyone was buyin the at the time super light GSXR's and the CBR's were getting really dialed in in those years. It wasnt much more money to own a cutting edge sport bike so Hawks werent hot.

It was Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay under powered as well. Great commuter and nice flickabile little thing, but not a sport sport bike.

wasn't the RC30 like $1 million lease fee from Honda, you didn't own it but it came with all the support for the team or something.

Or was it like $25k, sorry dont remember it was a long time ago.

I do believe RC's were around 25K... thats when top o the line sporty bike was like 7-8K new

I think your thinking of the NR750 that was unobtainable dammit... 65K list price and oval piston V-4 (alot of mag's dubbed V8 cause of the piston design..)

Kelly did an awesome job. Thanks again Kelly.

I retrieved the 60 from storage today, threw tars on it and rolled it under the truck where it'll sit. I've gotta build the hanger for the leafs--and outboard the shackle mounts in the rear a but. Then comes steering, which I have some KORE arms I'm gonna toss on that should do the job thumb.gif

where the axle will sit/110 wheelbase

slowly but surely... dammit I shouldn't have gotten a bike, it's alot more fun to go ride than work on this!

I'm gonna end up needin' to narrow/tube out the frontend. There's no way that this is gonna work having fenders/inner fenderwells. I'm fine with that... Probably endup exo-ing the rig as much as I hate them, I thing it'll probably keep it in a truck shape longer with how stupid I ARE. Already fubar'd enough **** on this rig....

If you ditch the Hummer wheels and outboard your tires some more, you may not have to cut it as much as you think.

I like the way it looks!

Looks good buddy. When I did fullwidth hanger on my Toyota I kept the shackle hangers and had one bent to kick it out the 1" or whatever it needed to be. It still cleared the frame with another piece of 1/2" welded to that. I will search for pics.

Thanks Nolen. It's coming together... I just can't wait to get out wheelin' in it again.

Damn dude don't be hatin on my rim selection, I paid more for the wheels than the tires. laughing1

..REALLY.

:flipoff1: The H2 wheels are a $175 band-aid.... I really want some stazworks but may settle for some cragar steelies w/DIY beadlocks. OR nut up and buy some aluminum beadlocks. WE will just have to see. Just needed something quick, cheap, easy for the time being...

Chris, thanks for posting those pics up. Looks like I may need to enlist the help of Mr. Kaiser for that job. I think the ironworker would make quick work of those shackles thumb.gif I was gonna rig it up like my dad with a rear shackle hanger underneath the frame on a piece of flat steel then gusseted up on the frame--wish I had pics... I don't like how he did his but it works on his cruiser(that's how factory was on his anyhow, not thru frame). I reallly didnt wanna do it that way on mine...

**hint hint** Looks like I need to do the hanger during the week and get my meausrements to the vertical limits dungeon of destruction thumb.gif :flipoff1:

With the way fuel prices are, have been (even tho they are dropping) I have to be pretty selective on my trips. Only planning on 3 major trips within the next half-year. I shouldn't consider Disney a major trip---since it's 3.5 hours away, but I'll be going there twice so it makes the list.... loller.gif

DISNEY, MORRIS MOUNTAIN and HAMMERS BOUND... thumb.gif

MM on turkey day, Hammers for KOH... Good times and I'm sure I'll see alot of folks from this board at both.

Rob, get with Kelly on those shackles he said he had already made a set for me for payment on his website and it don't look like I'll be needing them anymore.

Thanks for the heads-up, I will holler at Kelly about those shackles thumb.gif

Man shackles will make this job 10X easier... Already have the spring buckets up front---salvaged em from the previous hanger. Got the steel ready to cut down and weld everything together on the hanger... gonna be too damn E-Z!

can you cut off your old hanger? Just cut it in half and use receiver toob to widen it? You know all about receivin'

already cut it off... already got the metal for the center to replace what I took out.. longer piece of same ****... $15 ain't hurtin me too bad thumb.gif
