Piece of **** 12 valve

Re: 12v cummins problems problems problems

I didn't mean to hurt feelings man. When you found some issues with the injection pump, I thought of Peter pickin a booger. I know I'm random.

So how far did you go into the injection pump? Assuming its an inline P pump? Unfortunately based on what you have written, you can almost bet on the injection pump.

White smoke is raw diesel at the incorrect timing.

If it were me I'd find a company locally that builds diesel pumps for heavy equipment. Pull the pump and ask them to test it. They Will be able to tell you everything wrong with it before you replace it.

Whatever you do DON'T buy the cheapest online pump you can find. They have known to be bad out of the box

Re: 12v cummins problems problems problems

I've pulled the afc housing off of it checked the pinger made sure the diaphragm wasn't cracked that as far as I have gone into the pump it's a p7100

It has an 11 fuel plate though don't think that would make a difference

Re: 12v cummins problems problems problems

Has a lot to do with the star on the steering wheel. :****: if that's gonna be your DD take that bitch to someone that does that **** for a livin. Ain't no way I would get Into the middle of my duramax., it has to run every day. my rig thats in garage, that's different. Get that **** fixed right and be done

Re: 12v cummins problems problems problems

X2

Of course adjustments have an effect on drivability but sometimes people will band aid a major issue with adjustments. Best to call around, find a shop that builds pumps. Pull the pump yourself, have them test it. A good company will walk you through what they find.

I live far away from most everyone here. Otherwise I could send you to a place immediately.

Good luck dude

Did you just compare a duramax to a 12 valve? Thats like comparing a modern PC to a pencil and note pad! :****:

Re: 12v cummins problems problems problems

Well really wasn't the intention.. I was more talking about, I will work on the jeep and do **** but I thought I would never do to a vehicle.. Because it sits in the garage and I do not have to have it running. My daily driver, no ****ing way I'm taking my Duramax apart, and guessing and guessing and guessing.. Pissss on that. I need that ****er to run right! Haha. No telling what the previous owner had done. I would imagine unless you have a lot of experience, it could take forever and a lot of money to fix and find the problem.

No. In fact, I'd go a size smaller for better fuel mileage. Still have the same power. Or even more.

Re: 12v cummins injector choices

I'm not going to say its impossible but the chance of all 6 being bad is pretty small. Who tested them?

Re: 12v cummins injector choices

Northeast diesel in springfield mo everyone of them just pissed out fuel he said that if it had bad deisel in it when I got it that it destroys injectors and the fuel in it was horrible

I've heard that bigger injectors give you better fuel exonomy

Nope. Opposite. You need smaller injectors. Think about it. Smaller injectors takes less fuel to fire. So you use less fuel. Bigger injectors take more fuel to fire. So you use more fuel.

More fuel less power uses to get where your goin
Smaller means it'll take longer

Re: 12v cummins injector choices

Well hopefully thats what the problem is. A new set isn't too expensive, and I've always heard stage 1s or 40hp injectors get better milage than stock.

Incorrect. Smaller injectors are the way to go. How do you think spraying more fuel in will use less fuel? Dumb.
