Finaly

Finaly got back to being able to get some work done on the Jeep:cheer: Got the heater mounted in place (mohave) and built the dash this weekend. In the pics. Dash as it was . Kinda hacked up from a few years of use:booo: So I hacked out the rest of it to make room for the new dash. This made it a lot easier to get the heater in place at the same time:cheer: I made the dash out of a piece of etched aluminum from wilsonart that I had left over from a job I did a while back. I used a piece of 16 gauge aluminum for a backer since the etched stull is like 24 gauge. All put together and I like the look. Still need to make the switch panel (hole). The switch panel will be hinged at the bottom to allow access to the fuse panel that will be mounted behind it.

What's the lever for on the left side of the dash? And what's the bottom of that center bar off the dash bar attach too?

Looks really clean. :awesomework: Do you have a closeup of the etching on the aluminum?

The lever is for the micro lock on the front brakes. The short tube is for the defroster to hook to. There are about 100 little holes in the tube its attached to as a defroster. I can try and get a better pic of the metal.

Right on. Forgot about the defroster. Great idea. :awesomework:

Looks great jim. I like the dash alot. hopefully a few of us will be ready for a maiden voyage around the same time. Unfortunately I think it will be a snow run at my pace.

A little bit more. Got the switch panel made up and got the batteries mounted up under the pass. seat. The solenoid is a 85 amp continuous duty unit (winch solenoid) that will tie the batteries together with the flip of a switch when needed. I had this same setup on the old jeep with years of use and no problems
