what length hydro ram are you runing:eeek: and i can see his springs flexxing into the pitman arm forsure

It looks to be an 8" ram

If the pitman is going to get hit, so is the nut on the steering box for the pitman as its closer. The suspension needs bump stops because for anything to hit the springs will have to negative arch--not good...

I have some time to put into the flat fender (a few days) and I have robins rig to finish (one maybe 2 days) and then I will be ready bill.

WAHOO !!! Damn Im getting impatient !!! :redneck: Oh and btw, I still have that lockrite for you too. As for my third, I think easier if you just work on that when you get the whole truck there.

Thanks, Bill

Are bump stops in the works?

Ok, so tonight was more forward progress.

I was able to modify the IFS pitman arm by making an insert/welding it in (same method us toy guys have been doing for a long time). The drop in the pitman and length was just perfect.

With the fact that its hydro assist the pitman should be ok. If it ever becomes a problem sam--make sure to get the 3/4" less drop arm that sky makes.

Once that was done I took some measurements on the ram, pulled it and did what was needed to limit its travel. Threw it back on---making forward progress :awesomework:

For those who are considering ram assist steering--make sure you limit the ram travel. This was a big factor in the steering failure..

I also got the drag link measurement and sent the info to bunk :awesomework:

how do you limit the ram?:awesomework:

Well I turned the rig around and got it situated so I could get in/out of both sides easily.

So I gutted the seats

I made some headway and got a good portion of the mounts made.

Um, 'xcuse me for asking. installing new seats or making the old ones better? I don't recall seeing any interior shots before so I can't comment on the condition of the old seats.

Or did the PO happen to scare himself silly enough times that the old seats just won't clean up enough? :puke:

The past owner took his seats out and kept them and the mounting brackets so new seats and belts:awesomework:

which seats are you going with? I just ordered up a set of PRP daily drivers. Can't wait til they show up so I can pull out my uncomfortable sparco's
