Project Joining the Dark side!

How soon can you get wheels and tires :fawkdancesmiley:

I also looked at out options for the pitman arm. I am going to modify a stock IFS pitman arm and see how that goes. So if it works like I am hoping we will be looking really good.

Fawk me, ummmmm:redneck:. I will work on that this week, dont have school for a couple weeks so some time has freed up to deal with wheels and tires now

I also need to get over to Nix 99 and get you another resvoir:cool:

Just fixing things to make it trail worthy on this round.

So here is the list of items left.

1-Rear bleeder screws and bleed the brakes brakes

2-The steering pump that you brought up sam is no good (didn't even bother putting it on) and we will need another one.

3- Pitman arm and ram

4- Sam get a hold of Bunk and see how quickly he can get a new drag link done.

5- seats mounted

steering pump is this a toyota specific thing?

i have a few laying around.

dodge concorde
chevy saginaw

maybe others?

Okay so i picked up a new/used resvoir for ya at Nix 99 today, they think toyota parts are gold but i didnt want to go hunting around to find one cheaper:mad:

I went ahead and ordered a pump from cali should be here friday cause Nix wanted 85 bucks and ours was 70 with shipping:haha:

O and your spring perches shipped out today should be at your place around thursday or friday as well:awesomework:

Mike, Ineed me one of them fancy Lil tool's. can you direct me on where to find one. neve notice one on a tool truck but then again I have been trying to stay out of them lately.

That tool kicks butt. I got it from the mac guy. Its a straight cut bolt extractor. Best part about that tool you can go both directions and the way it cuts into the hole it doesn't flare out the broken piece you are trying to remove unlike the other ones out there.

I have that same tool kit from the MAC guy its awesome!

Ok, so tonight was more forward progress.

I was able to modify the IFS pitman arm by making an insert/welding it in (same method us toy guys have been doing for a long time). The drop in the pitman and length was just perfect.

With the fact that its hydro assist the pitman should be ok. If it ever becomes a problem sam--make sure to get the 3/4" less drop arm that sky makes.

Once that was done I took some measurements on the ram, pulled it and did what was needed to limit its travel. Threw it back on---making forward progress :awesomework:

For those who are considering ram assist steering--make sure you limit the ram travel. This was a big factor in the steering failure..

I also got the drag link measurement and sent the info to bunk :awesomework:
