Project scout

Scouts (rust buckets) are for people that are'nt afraid of a huge project.
I am trying to atleast have it driving by the laborday weekend campout, if nothing else. It may not be on the tires I want, but hey she'll be a runnin.

Scouts are for people who can't get Toyota's or Patrol's.:redneck::redneck::kiss: Keep cutting out that rust, try to be done for our Labor Day campout.

I just picked up a 69 800a a couple weeka ago. Little rust spots on mine since it was garaged most its life. Good projects that for sure!

Thats a rare find. Are you going to do total rebuild?

In the process of installing a 345 from a scout 2 in it. Bought a painless wiring kit. Fuel cell. Reverse shackle for the front and 4 link the rear. D44 from the scout 2 I have. Family cage and 35's or 37's. Throw some paint on it and wheel.

Bought it from a guy in portland for $400.

Heres what I did today, removed factory motor mounts, removed the drum brakes from my 14bolt, welded in the other rear quarter patch.

Still have to cut this out and weld in a new patch for the top rail. I'll probably do that this week.

Throw up a thread I want to see some pics! $400 did it have a title?

Came with no title. Dmv found the title owner and I have contacted them. They have released the title and I will have it shortly. No progress yet. Still have to pull the 304 out of it.

Alright guys, I have run into a slight problem: I am not going to be able to use the 32 spline setup I was originally going to go with because the idiot that I bought the transmission from gave me the wrong adapter that goes between the two. Apparently there is a shorter adapter and a longer one. The adapter is about a inch and half to two inches to short. So, tonight I am going to get yet another SM465 and a Np205. Sadly they're 10 spline. (I think)

Good to see a corn binder build.I got a 64 Scout as my first rig when I was 14 and my dad had a Travell all.Looks like you have done a lot of great work and I like your drivetrain choices.
