Just an estimate, but I'm fairly confident that about 99% of HLrs won't be receiving anything free from the federal government, any educational institution, medical facility, and etc. This severely pisses me off. Talk about a slap in the face. Dudes like JD, who were born in the US, works and attends school (hats off to ya, I know it ain't easy......I watched my wife go through her Bachelors and Masters while working) and he doesn't get a free ride.

Luckily I have a decent job so I'm in no hurry to finish school. I only take 2 classes per semester, but go year-round, work pays for it (as long as I pass the class), and it balances out pretty well. Keeps me busy, which I like, but it can get stressful sometimes when life hits. About another year and I'll be done with my Associates, then onto a Bachelors in Business.

And you dang right about the free ride! Hasn't happened a lot, but you'd be surprised how many people has asked me why I even work, why don't I just draw disability, etc. Haha I almost want to punch them. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM! I am able to work and I like toys! Lol

My wife worked in the financial aid office for Arizona. She showed me all the scholarships and grants based solely on race. However, not one available for a male Caucasian. Also, in AZ if a person has been incarcerated they receive an educational grant.....because they weren't able to work and earn money....while in prison, in which they were there because they were convicted of a serious felony. Now, motherfuckers are getting a free ride because they are illegals.

I just returned from working in south Texas, which is pretty much Mexico. Anyways, 95% of the illegal aliens we arrested there were what we call OTM, which means Other Than Mexican. They will be given a temporary visa, a free buss ticket to anywhere in the US they choose to go, their medical treatment will be paid for and they are eligible for government assistance. Notice all the new apartment and low income housing construction? That's for them. We had a lot of them asking where their new house was at. They scam the government into believing that they have credible fear of returning to their native country. However, almost everyone of them had obviously fake birth certificates from El Salvador and fake certificates of credible fear stamped by the Salvadoran Minister of Security.......yeah, we got a few of them to admit that the certificates were bought in Mexico. Also, I'm sure there's a gew people on HL that are illegals, ask them about the Obama commercials that air in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador and the rest of central/south America.

Pretty fawking sad, really. There's no such thing as common sense in government anymore.

Honestly, as much as I hate the idiot that Donald Trump can be, when I read about crap like this, I'm like fawk it, I can deal with his idiocy if he motions to do away with dumbass expenses and programs such as these. Imo, America (as we have come to know it) has an expiration date in the not-so-distant future.

Remember, just because he says he'll do it doesn't mean he will. I'd bet money he won't. He's too much into big government to actually wanna shrink big government.

That goes for all of them Lol. I'm not defending him at all, I really hate all the candidates that are left, but I'd believe he'd be for less government intervention than either of the dems candidates. I think we're fawked either way.

Not that I agree with this, but it will take 10 years of this fee to pay for 1 year for 1 person to attend this college. This was an attempt to get national recognition and it worked. 40 years of this it will take to fund one person getting their degree. People that hate the idea will still hate it. People that like the idea will give them money. Each time it is shared, it gets to more people that may give them money.

Re: Random Thoughts

Little story about a buddy of mine that works with me. He's been with this gal for several years now, like at least 6 or 7. They have a 2 year old now and just had a new baby back in January. Been living together for probably 4 or 5 years maybe. He makes good money, more than I do, because the department he is in, works a shitload of overtime, enough to dip into double-time pay easily. Several 70 hour weeks lately. His ole lady don't make ****, she did work at the local bbq joint before having the newest baby, not sure if she is going back to work or not, but the point is, he makes the bread and she doesn't make that much - just a fact of the story. Before they had the newest baby, they ended up getting married sometime late last year while she was preggo. When they had the baby it costed him a shitload of money, something about his wife not being on his insurance yet due to annual open enrollment dates, he tried to explain it all, but insurance didn't cover much or something like that. But if they had've remained unmarried until after the baby was born, medicaid would have paid most all of it and saved him a shitload of money like when their last baby was born.

Moral of the story, it costs more to be an upstanding citizen. molaugh :****:

Re: Random Thoughts

Yep. Lots of people have ceremonial weddings with no legal binding marriage, just to take advantage of gov programs. I know of 2 couples personally that for all intents and purposes are "married" except for the legal certificate... When the woman can be unemployed and kids covered by Tenncare and Medicare, WIC, SNAP, etc buying groceries, income based housing and more. Bullshit!

Yeah that's a big crock of horse ****. Shouldn't be so many damn loopholes in the system.

Re: Random Thoughts

Something is fishy about that. Pretty sure marriage and birth are both "qualifying life events" to add someone to insurance mid year. ???

Maybe he just didn't do it then? Im not real sure. He said something about the hospital bills being in his wife's name and them not letting him use his insurance to cover it. He just got a $1,000 anesthesia bill, and had several others of comparable costs.

Birth. Key word there. He/they may have been responsible for all costs up to the actaul birth.

Or maybe I'm thinking wrong.

There's a time limit to apply for most though. Probly didn't take the time.

I have heard of ins companies considering pregnancy as a preexisting condition and not giving coverage.

Should have for sure been able to cover the kid at the hospital.

I know several friends like this. Most of them needed the financial help at the time, and didn't get married for that reason.

Me and the wife joke that we should have not got married and it would have saved us 10k on having kids alone. & comparably i feel like I've got good insurance.

Thinking about it, that is likely it. I know when my son was born last year, I had a 30 day time frame to add him and it was retroactive to his birth. Saved us about $20k with his NICU stay.

****....5 years of my college didn't cost 1 year of what these dipshits are paying out for 1. I am so not interested in ever going to a cool kid college.

True dat. The local community college I attend is roughly $600 for 1 class and book. That's a lot to me, and I don't even wanna know what it costs to go to cool kid school.

When I get done with my Associates at Northeast (community college), Huntingdon College in Montgomery does a deal where you can finish a Bachelors in Business at Northeast through Huntingdon. Northeast is 10 minutes from my house so that works out good. No clue what to expect to pay when I enroll with Huntingdon, more I'm sure. Work reimburses me for books and tuition if I pass. If I fail or drop, I lose $600. Had to drop 2 classes over the years. So I **** away $1200.
