The red tape at events that "everyone MUST stay behind," is evidently just a suggestion. If your honest enough to stay behind it, you can hardly see the action for the people in front of you. It's always "important," and the promoter is "serious" about it until after the first buggy runs. I hate to sound like my vagina is all sandy, but, it's been like this at every event I've ever been to. Get there early, pay entry fee, hike in, balance rocks so that my chair sits level right behind the ever so important red tape, listen to announcement about how serious the promoter is about said boundary, then sit back and watch the folks filter in past the red tape and barely stop for the yellow tape. Guess I should just stick to YouTube and save the entry and concession fees. Sorry for the rant, but this is the random thought thread...

Unless you are going for the party or after party, then, yes that's generally more enjoyable.

I agree. You come early to find a nice place to sit and enjoy the race, I come early to find a place where a 4 and 11 year old can see with nobody in front of them, then here come the asshats. I do realize that there is a natural progression towards getting a good view of the action, but how big of an asshole do you have to be to move around, then stand IN FRONT OF a dude in a chair or a 4-1/2' kid?

Re: Random Thoughts

The first and last SRRS event that I went to was the same way. Me and a buddy were at the race hill an hour before anyone else. Then the friends of the drivers show up, cross the tape and stand right in front of me, all 40 of them. Never again will I attend one of their events.

Re:

It's happened to me every time I've attended an event. I really analyzed it this go around and it really got to me. There was a group of three girls/women IN FRONT OF ME that literally never even glanced at the buggies or the hill. They discussed their hair color and length in great detail, all while past the red tape. It's just like every thing else I've ever attended or been a part of; it's who you are or who you know that makes a difference. Same ol political horse ****.

Re:

There's alota good folks in the offroad community.....sadly there are a few more rude ass inconsiderate ****ers out there.

These are the same people that park in the middle trails and give you the stink eye when you ask them to move over 5ft so you can squeeze by.

Re: Random Thoughts

And some of these people at events aren't really in the community. In my opinion.

Most of them are coon tune blasting rzr douche ****s and dumbass drunk "my uncle's K5 on 44s..." hillbillies.

At least 3/4 the crowd at SRRS Grayrock last year was...

But everyone I ran with and ran into actually out riding was real cool.

Think that's about the same as I have seen. When I end up at the same place I go ride on other side of the park. :****:
Seen one seen Em all. Plus my YouTube acct let's me know when BK post Em up. Then I'll watch the ones you turds talk about. :flipoff1:

Re: Random Thoughts

Damn this one has potential to hurt my buggy fund. If, keep finger crossed, SRRS ever comes back to Stony Lonesome, show up and watch the show. If you don't have a great seat where you can see and enjoy the race, I will pay for your tickets. To the OP of complaints about the tape, not to every swinging Charley out there. I got to meet Clyde and his crew and help out this past season opener and I have a new found respect for what all they go through to put on a good show. I actually lost my voice screaming at a lady for crossing a boundary into a potentially dangerous area. I was more than impressed with how they have worked crowd control and feel like they do all that they can to keep everyone safe and as good a view as you can get. Mike, I will personally get your boys the best seat in the house if they come back, I promise. Having happy fans is what makes it fun. Hell, I ended up with no voice, poison oak and just down for a few days. I would do it all over again just to see how much fun everyone was having at the race. We even worked the after party keeping people from crashing down the bypass and even pushed cars up the muddy hill to get out the front gate.

I could care less about bouncers. The only madram or bk videos I'll watch are trail rides. Bounty hills are about as fun as watching paint dry. That ride was an excuse to get out in the woods since a friend offered a seat in his gzr and I've been rigless for about 4 years now. Gzr riding on the east coast is just that, gay. Since we were there I figured we might as well watch for a minute, or try to watch before we went booze cruising the rest of the day.

The best part of the whole deal was when the staff got there and started setting up. One guy asked me for a beer and shrugged it off when I mentioned his Walmart fire extinguisher showing empty on the gauge.

This was at Windrock. TWICE. Granted, some people were like, "Hey, put that boy in front of me where he can see." Ummm, no thanks. I don't want to put him 20' from the race course. Stoney did look more spectator friendly though.
