• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

So i bought a 51 Whilly

I'll wear your silly green suit/helmet combo when we enter your rig in the KOH LCQ... or happy to meet you at any of the pre-qual events. My only condition is that we get 'flip-off' emodicons on the backs. Wouldn't hurt to have a small one on each of the back quarter panels as an accent either. I'm in, please don't make me wait til I get mine built...

While my rear is getting reamed i figured i would get some other non essential things done.

Made a GPS mount. I'm gonna have a windshield and this area will have metal aross it anyways for the wiper motors to mount. I made a couple of speed holes cause Cascade-Crawler wont tell me how to return his dimple die.:fawkdancesmiley:

The windshield will have the original vent so these will allow air to flow thru when the vent is open.

Looks like i have to wait till i get my red star back to post pictures. I already sent the money snail mail if ya trust me Mike?:awesomework:

Dean and it appears he is having a hard time with it. was supposed to pick it up saturday and he called and said his cutter was dull. he needed to sharpen it and might not be done till monday.

hopefully hear from him today so i can drag the rear end home for final install and maybe drive it next weekend.:awesomework:

my drive flanges have been held up in, get this, Redmond Wa. due to inclimate weather for three days now?:haha:

I laughed when I read this before but now I'm suffering from the same problem with C/O springs. The delivery locations is Woodinville, seriously it's next door!

rear end is back installed, ran out of oil.

tomorrow test the brakes and run it a little in place.:D

well i guess thats why we run tests;

the brakes wont stop the wheels while in low low 1st gear and reverse.... i can maybe momentarily stop them with both feet pushing on the pedal.

but it stops just fine in ALL other gears.

i musta done too much grinding cause my transfer case will only go with front in one range and rear in another range no matter what i do. :redneck:

have new shift rail coming.

stereo does not power up so i took it to a shop and there is nothing wrong with the deck, so my wiring is again the cause or maybe my plug has a bent pin or something?

so this weekend work out those bugs and try to get the ARB lines hooked up.

had the flu the last week or so im really tired of being sick.....i need a day on the trails.

My brakes don't stop the wheels while in low low 1st either. Too much gearing, not enough stall (slip) in the torque converter.

Don't worry about it. It's normal. That's what neutral is for.

Yea those little issues are a pain. Better hurry up though I am taking mine to Tahuya tommorow:cheer:

yeah i was thinkin im already a manual guy so it will be just like having to push in the clutch only it will be neutral. with reverse manual valve body neutral is right next to 1st gear anyways.

my star is back so ill post a couple pics soon.

well i ran it a while on jack stands. top speed even.

need to get the air system in so i can test the ARB.

then get the roof rolled and installed so i can finish the installing antennea's.

Need to start looking at speakers:
4 each 6" round with no paper on the speaker.

anyone have some they want to off?:redneck:

Would changing the ratio in which the pedal applies pressure be of any help to ya? just a thought...

when i first ordered my wilwood master cylinders i talked about all this with the guy. he said there are a few different things to do brake wise but in this case i think the correct stall speed torque converter is the answer, or leave it alone for now.

GPS mount

GPS Mount, thanks for the use of your dimple dies Cascade_Crawler.:D
