What is your crawl ratio of your wheeler? I was just trying to figure out what mine was and Im thinking it will need to be alittle better. So what do you have?

I'm 49:1, perfect for my setup, 37's, It's an auto, you cant figure in the torque converter. you get into the 70:1 and lower you won't be able to stop, it will just drive through you're brakes.

Every buggy we build at the shop is about 55 or 60:1 and is more than low enough.

So you think 48:1 is going to be ok with my set up?

70:1 with manual on 36's here. I can't imagine 48:1 being OK ever. 70:1 isn't anything to write home about. It certainly doesn't drive through the brakes.

76:1 in low range.......17.68 in high range.......I sure would like a 3 speed t-case....it's to damn wide between low and high

Uh NOT. :fawkdancesmiley: I have a 4 speed Atlas(wide ratio) with an auto. I don't drive though my brakes. I admit it that you have to give the brake pedal a little more push, but it's not that hard.

For the record the auto tranny 1st gear is 2.74
The t-case in low-low is (2.72 X 3.8) = 10.33
and the 60 and 14 bolt are geared at 5.38's

so put that all together and you get 152 : 1

And I still don't drive through my brakes:haha:

if I ever get it completed

old setup
AX15 (3.83) x NP231 (2.72) X 8.8(4.65) = 48.44

New setup
AX15 (3.83) x atlas II (4.30) X D60(5.38) = 88.60

Well then you have a super high stall and you're 152 is worthless:haha: all the buggies we build have 350's or 400's, a 4.3 atlas, and 5.38's, that's 58:1 and most definitely low enough, never a situation where there isn't enough low end. In you're case, it's like toy's with 150+ engine is wrapped piss tight and you're wheel's are spinning 1mph, I'm sure you don't have a manual valve body so you are at the whim of the tranny shifting to pick up some wheel speed, and even in drive low range you are 55:1, sound's like a sweet setup:rolleyes:
