So what is your>>>>>>

So will my 48:1 be ok with my auto on 39s? Im asking this because I was thinking about going duals but if I dont have to that would be awesome.

whats your motor/tranny setup?

My brothers 4.3v6 t350 and dual toys runnign 4.10 diff gears needs to have dual cases.

sm465(6.55)x203(1.96)x205(1.96)x4.56 = 114.74 with 39.5s and a nicely built injected small block...works great for me...rarely use the granny low...usually in 2nd gear 1 case on trails...and 2nd and both cases on the rocks:cool:

Small block chevy......turbo 350.......toyota case with 4.7 to 1 gears and 410 diffs.

you're 4.7 is lower than a dual case setup if mind serves me right. just remember......I'm clueless.

nope. the dual cases net you just over 5.1 reduction.

I think yours will work with just the 4.7's (could maybe be a touch lower reverse seems like a higher gear than 1st and my bro's truck doesn't like to back out of big boulder flexing situations) but you don't have the option of splitting the gears like my brother does with the dual case setup. I'd consider selling the gears and going duals. Then you have the best of all worlds.

245.1, 47" swampers, 2.7 tacoma, 5 speed, dual cases, 4.7 in rear case, 5.86 gears in the 1 tons.
Works perfect for the hammers, rubicon and the desert southwest.

old rig worked great on trails and in the rocks, but wanted a little lower low range 2.48 th400 2.62 d300 5.13s d60s with 39.5 tsls = 33.33 to 1

new rig is toy 22re 5sp dual cases with 4.7s in the rear case and 4.10s with 37in mtrs 3.95 1st gear 2.28 front case 4.7 rear case 4.10 axles = 173 to 1

My friend and I built a cj7 a few years ago with a 350 th400 and a 4.3 atlas with 4.56s and 38s and it drove through low first gear just above idle. It didnt feel like it was going to stop. I tend to agree with darius depending on the braking system. We had 4wheel discs but a manual master cylinder. So I could see with power assist that 80 to 1 in most cases would be the limit and 50 to 1 with manual brakes.
