x2! that s10 frame needs to be under something with some fenders... and you can't go wrong with the 3100 frame... drop & link the front axle, ditch the drums, and roll out.

I just dont think I can get the "look" I want out of the 10 frame, Id be forced into running a front clip and that isnt really what I want to do so ....

I guess Ill have to speak to Pop's a bit and see if he really does want to go 10 frame, I got the impression yesterday he did as he already had researched it a bit online. I guess we will see.

I brought it to work, gonna get the Plasma after the rails and get it cleaned a good bit and prepped one way or another its destined to be under an old school truck thumb.gif

( got my trailer back too, have keys for the aluminum box I put on the front for secured storage ! loller.gif )

If I were going for something like this ( I do dig the crap outta this truck and its on a S10 frame... ) id be cool with running it.

Here's the chassis at work this AM and my aluminum box on the trailer Im all excited about. (Thanks Wade !!! I finally mounted it :flipoff1: )

they do look killer on it, what are the 20" er's. That truck is sexy man, Id love to tote my fitty on the bed of that bitch ! loller.gif

Got some frame prep knocked out at lunch... love my job and love AirMed's plasma cutter !! :afro:

Like I said, Id like to hook Jriches dad up with it more than me running it but either way it needed prepped so since it was here and on the trailer, why not !

CheapJ7 throw the link to this thread at your dad next time you get a chance... lots of great info he will love. I told him to look at the HAMB as well dont know if he is patient enough to weed through or if he will get into it at all.

Good link Wyatt, Im going to check it out, that truck is cool as **** ! thumb.gif

I'll holla at pops this evenin and get himon the ball..

Mom said he's had it out on the pad woekin on it the last 3 days...

Yea I didnt get to catch up a whole lot with him, but the rear main started leaking on him, and he was having "I think" some alternator issue. He's been driving it though so those things will present themselves ya know.

Nothing will happen soon on it Im sure, just trying to lay out what direction I need to look at parts wise so I can continue to "aquire" what will be needed and get a more detailed direction on were Im taking this thing. Like I said, I personally prefer it to have "old school" appearance and that will be nearly impossible sitting on a S10 frame unless I cover the entire front clip ( which is sheet metal I dont have ) thumb.gif

So anyway.... between the fiddy section and this thread Im sure errr one on this 4x4 site hates me. :flipoff1:
Got it home and in the garage, sat the cab on it just to see and backed it in with the 30 to be sure I had space. Everything is good to go thus far.

Backin it on up like a U-Haul truck. Im thankful wontwork didnt keep the wheels, I'd be F'd if I had to do some work on something and not be able to roll this chassis in and out like I can right now. thumb.gif

Still have room for the fiddy up front for quick rides around the hood and I can get to my stereo so it passes the "one side of the garage is for P " test from Momma ! laughing1

So you gonna keep the 10 frame or just playin around with it????

Thats up to your ol man, if he wants to run it cool Ill trade him for his factory. If he doesnt Ill run it. Id perfer to build a "rat" type rig so the old chassis would better suit me. I just put the chassis in my garage and it saves alot more space sitting the cab on it then having it sitting and taking up floor space as well ya know thumb.gif

S-10 Frame it is. Jon's dad doesnt want to get into the swap . I played around a bit more with mock-up and what kind of appearance the front of the frame has... I have some ideas to give it a better look. Im going to cut the lower part of the frame up front off and get it as small as possible , then give it that old "rolled to a point" type appearance so the front of the chassis has that old style look to it , then put a tube across the insides of it like they used to do... I do want to keep the top on it. It just looks cool with the chop , Ill have to get or make hinges for the doors. I'm going to drop the suspension on it a TON I want it low low.

Nice find !! loller.gif

thats about what Im going for.. what type of Grille and shell is that do you know ??

I wont be rolling fancy wheels or even remotely decent paint like that. but the stance is right , add a couple big ass old school Freightliner lights next to the Grille and call me happy !!! :drinkers:

( damn his email from that link doesnt work.. :dunno: )
