Hey Crash, could you cut a hole in the aluminium for my hand to fit through to turn the air on and off? My hands are XXL.

Why'd you go with plastic flex hose for the brake lines instead of hard steel?

I made that choice, it is some thick stuff used for hydro controls in the marine industry. My reason is easy to fix on the trail... same size fittings as my air lines.

Ummmm. As a general rule, hard steel lines don't need to get fixed on the trail. I've never heard of someone who's hard line 'broke'. Ever. I suppose it could happen. But I've heard dozens of guys who've blown ARB lines, melted, broke, whatever. Hard plastic may hold the pressure just fine, but how well can it hold up to heat, impacts, etc? Any specs on the material?

And I'm truly not trying to be an ass here, I've also got to plumb my TJ project in the immediate future, and am curious.
 
Robin you had a line to valve leak up at Naches and by the time we were done playing you were open diffed if I remember right...

I'd agree to at least keep a small compressor with your tow rig, heck even a cheap cigarette lighter powered one would probably do the trick if it was plumbed into the Co2 tank for backup....

I have rolled over and smashed closed ripped steel lines way to many times. I've had 2 pair of vise grips holding my lines together at the first goldendale comp. Making new trail by way of smashing through the woods took one off(private property).........I'm somewhat of a retard and think the nylon line will make repair easier. Doing Pucker ridge in my TJ with no brakes and an automatic tranny was kinda of exciting, but being able to fix the brakes would have been better. What is inside of a braided steel line?

What trans fluid is in the rig?

90w ok for the t-case?

What are you going to want to use for the shock reservoir mounts?
 
Run out of CO2. No locker action...


Brad runs Mog axles as well w/ CO2 actuated lockers. You can run the lockers ALOT on a small CO2 bottle.

With Brads, if you run out you could actuate the locker lever with wire, zip tie, etc... to have the lockers engaged.
 
Oh and tony---I will be getting those amp #'s for ya--I found my tool finally :awesomework:
 
Ok so the front plumbing is totaly done--got the vent hose ran tonight.
Now after some more looking--I am not 100% sure the front hydro lines will work where they are. I am afraid there might be some contact issues with the front driveshaft. But no fear as I have a backup plan ready to roll if need be :awesomework:

I also got the rear locker hose done..

So--the next thing I decided to do-----yup-----give it some stopping power. With the help of hotrod--I get the brake system bled out. Only a couple leaks to fix along the way--but it now has working brakes :cheer: :cheer:


So at this point I wanted to get the hydro system bled out--so I went and ran it for a bit to get most of the air out--and that rear joystick is pretty cool....

90 weight in the diffs and portals...i'll call AA and get a recomendation from them for the atlas.

Shock reseviors? some hose clamps, or anything you see fit. I have some leaks in one of the front shocks and am going to want to re-valve them. Do I have permission, or would you prefer to do it, Jason has given me recommendations on valving that will better suit the ride I'm looking for.

I dont see any Voo-Doo inside the atlas case.....I'm ok with 90 weight, mix a little ATF in all of it as a detergent.

Have fun with 2wheel drive hot laps. I'll have the front shaft shortly.

I give you permision to handle the coilovers----but you will have to sign a waiver to not scratch the paint :haha: :haha:


So just hose clamps--ok that will work. I was looking at the front mounting for the reservoirs--and I gotta figure something out for those--getting kinda tight....

Also--just straight ATF for the tranny?

Ya---its really starting to act like a buggy--just one more loop to get over---the drive belt :awesomework:
