Van Epps pass

Doing nothing changes nothing. People thrive off this democratic nation but yet don't want to engage it to change it for the better.

What I am thinking is a planning trip to find a suitable camping spot and base camp. I know the whole run will not be open until late June...

You guys crack me up with your secret trails and ****.. I think Boardbysled can be the first to tell you..

No trails on DNR or FS land are secret!

And while the upper recreation guys may not know much, the foresters certainly do, they're out there every day. (DNR more than FS)

Van Epps is no secret. But its also no Rieter. People seem to keep confusing their little tiny place with a massive de-facto ORV park that hosted 500-1000 people a weekend.

Its a great little trail-head, and I'd recommend doing it late at night with a GPS and some good buddies  .. after getting lost at Naches the night before ;)

So stop talking about having secret places, talk about having 'annoying' places.. places that take for f'in ever to get to, require you to dodge bullets, or jumping off the side of an interstate while not getting caught by a stater. Then you can post pics and whatever you want here, you'll still only get 5-10 people with the balls to go there.

:awesomework: I agree. And I'd like to add.......

These grand delusions of secrecy are simply a (poor) attempt at keeping some kind of self-invented ownership of ORV recreation areas. The concept of a "stomping grounds" taken past the acceptable reasonableness.

It is pathetic and it is sad to see this unnecessary struggle continue. A bunch of superstitious has-beens populate this mindset. It is ridiculousness that should not be encouraged, nor perpetuated.

I still want to get up there atleast once this summer. Maybe early September, but probably not the holiday its way to crowded up there on holiday weekends.

Yea, every time I plan a wheeling trip, something always comes up. I would not mind a trip up there in mid September. Temps a little cooler.

We are shooting for Aug 24/25, just before the holiday weekend. I like it when its hot up there, then you can enjoy the river. When it starts cooling off the river is to cold to relax in.

Well so far the wife and I. :redneck: Gavin will probably come out Saturday afternoon as well. And I'll put an invite out to the club at the meeting.
