FWIW, the racer's radio is up. It's dead air right now but I just heard them test it by letting loose a fairly long stream of profanities. laughing1

Nolen,

How did you get invited to this race? Is it your 14,000 posts on pirate? Pics of you on nearly every trail system in the US? Why do you think you got the invite?

Dave Cole is a friend of mine and in other circles than the SE Rockbouncing world, I have been known to fully get it ;D

I told them yes and was on the list until I sold my buggy. Looks like Matt got to keep the position in the race when I sold it. Good for him.

I should be out there helping/watching or something, this connection makes me want to kill a kitten.

I really hope this coverage turns out to be worth a ****. I am thinking it may be all hype based on the poor technology used tonight. Also you think Lance or Camo would attend a web design class with the biggest 4x4 site on the web and all. There pages are always 10 miles long and don't work worth a ****

think though, with 30 sec start intervals, how many people will have a chance to jam up in a trail tight spot. How many teams are running? divided by 2, is how many minutes back you will start if you are last. What's the desert like there, wide open or passes? I'm thinking passing lanes here. It will make all the difference between "the blue car starts towards phoenix at 6:00 going 58mph. the red car starts towards phoenix at 6:22 going 98 mph. how long with it take the red car to pass the blue car" and "****, I can't pass because this ****ing Ftoy is going 45mph and I'm capable of 100mph" molaugh

I had it in my head that it was wide open desert, mostly because they made such a big deal out of navigation. That's a good point about 30 second start intervals. He'll be about 20 minutes behind the first car and 15 minutes behind JR. But looking at the course it seems like it starts with 15 miles of open desert racing. If the terrain is as wide open as I think it is faster cars should be able to make it to the obstacles before the trail plugs.

Has anybody been there? Am I on target?
