Looks like the 'burn-through'....not the actual weld. Aluminum will do that if the heat isn't just right or if using a spool gun. Everything clumps up on the back side looking like crap.

What a mess of wiring! :o

It's prob been said somewhere, but what caught on the d-shaft to cause all of that?
we came through a rock garden and there was a large boulder blocking teh exit. the only way to make it happen was wheelstand it and blast teh other side. when we came down, teh shaft hit the rock. this broke the pillow block up and away. after that, the rest of the run it flopped and we could hear it over the engine adn through the helmets. it finally grabbed everything on the final hill. :-\
I'm going to machine a billet pillow block out of some 1018 tube.

anyone have a schematic or even a pic of the connections on the back of a Warn 9R control module? all the wires to the winch are good from the control mod, I'm missing everything from the switch by the shifters all the way to the front of the buggy on the control module.
I think its a plug, that I may be missing, no idea.

Any leads on those switches yo?

hit up daniel aka "juanhongloe" he should be able to get you whatever u need for that winch.

Re: 555 repair report

You can probably get the swithces from a CAT dealer or NAPA. When we used to race mud trucks that is where we would get them and they would see alot more water and mud than your will see.

Ok, there are 3 prongs on the bottom side of the control module. I am only assuming one is neutral (ground), one is forward, one is reverse.
Daniel if you can help that'd be F-AWESOME! I'm fixing to wire it that way, but would rather not smoke a winch. I really just need to know if I'm right, and which one is the ground.

In the pic they are on the bottom of the box one still has the blue connector attached to it.

Is that going to the 9.0 RC?

Re: 555 repair report

I just answered my own question. Sorry. Let me get to work in the morning and look in my warn service manuals and see exactly what each one goes to. Please do not hook it up yet. I don't think you will hurt it if you do, but its better to be safe than sorry. Warn has been getting away from the solenoids and going to contactors like these for the ease of replacement and reliability. All of the ATV winches have them. We work on about 8-10 big winches a week and about 10-15 ATV winches a week. Only thing is, never had a 9.0RC come in. :dunno: I'll check tomorrow. thumb.gif

In the pic above the terminal on the far left should be a positive for the "in" function, middle is a ground, and the one on the right positive for the out function. Holla if you need anything else. ;)

Re: 555 repair report

Wyatt, that buggy is clearly totalled. I will give you $5000 for it.

So on to the original failure... what are we doing to replace / repair the pillow block when you get that far ? Also, I do very much want to run a different front shaft setup already, what are the dimensions of the pillow block you "plan" to run once to the point of that repair ? I know im jumpin ahead of what your battling so you can blow me off for now and Ill just keep watching the repair progress until you get to that point :flipoff1:

I recall Kelly tech-babblin about Bens block and yours and whom evers and re-doing them in Unobtainium Kryptonite cast Vagina materials so it will never break or be any issue again... any follow up on that ? Im interested in getting my front 2pc, angled a lot better to lessen vibes but its gonna take a smaller pillow block or hanger bearing then the big ass stocker style one I currently have there. ( plus that bushing mount thing vibe's like a mo fo at speed ... )

Thanks K bye

Re: 555 repair report

machined billet block.... were are you getting said unit and what kinda overall dimensions ?

i can tell by your pics that the one you had is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY smaller then the hunk o stock **** in my buggy.. if I had a smaller unit I could do miraculous things with my front driveline and get a ton of vibe out of it and gain alot more wheel travel. As it is right now I cant let the front do much for fear of driveline come apart laughing1
