I am the fastest person on the interstate....do I have a problem?

Is 5-8 mph over any less breaking the law than 20-30? Ummm no it isn't. Sorry.

30 is more illegal that 5-8. The reason being is it is an offense you can get arrested for and lose your license. Try arguing that with a judge. I did in my early 20's and got my ass handed to me and my license was removed from my wallet.

I know that this is all in fun and you guys do go pretty fast and that is fun too. I hope one day you don't cross into oncoming traffic and kill someone or yourself. 160mph on the interstate that was built for 55mph is ignorant. Think for a second that if you live, all your **** won't be taken from you. Wrong. Racing and extreme speed is meant for tracks. Go do a track day at Barbers or race in the Lemons series or Baja. 1/8 or 1/4 mile is fine.

Flame away if you feel the need, but I assure you, prosecution for the injured finds this thread after an accident and you can guarantee to kiss all your hard earned **** good bye. I'm not the smartest man and I still do some pretty dumb ****, but I try to limit the hurting of others to as small a chance as I can.

Re:

The only difference between 30 over and 5-8 over is the officer is gonna be a little more unhappy when he pulls you over for the 30 over. There is no set speed for reckless driving, and even then, it's still just a ticket, I've had 4 of them and a number of speeding tickets (back in my younger days, I drive with more sense now). Reckless driving is at officer's discretion, you could be doing 5 over and if the officer thinks you were doing so recklessly, he can issue you a citation for reckless driving. The only way you are going to jail for 30 over is if you really were driving like a moron and legitimately endangering other motorists. If you are doing 80 with traffic on an interstate section with a mph regulated down to 55 and get pulled over, yer not going to jail and not getting a reckless driving ticket...only a speeding ticket.

This all comes down to context of the situation. Tony is saying he drives faster than traffic, as do I...that doesn't mean he's bobbing and weaving and cutting people off, making dangerous maneuvers, but everybody automatocally ASSumes that when things like this are brought up.

Don't overreact guys :) lol

Re:

Everybody is Johnny Lawabider on the interweb....but these are the guys that prolly don't signal when merging or roll through stop signs they're familiar with because they're comfortable doing it and see no danger because they know the area.

My point that speeding is speeding. It really is splitting hairs until your talking massive amounts of over speed. Illegal is illegal. Just because they have different punishments for different speed increments over the limit doesn't make it less legal. Just a justification for folks to point fingers.

And take the fun outa the interweb? Next well be hearing about those daredevils that remove the guards from thier 4.5" angle grinders. OH THE HUMANITY!

Kel is the worst speeder her. I seen that som-biscuit bush hogging at 9 mph in a field that warranted no more than 6 mph. So don't go giving me any lip. You are placing innocent bunny rabbits and other little creatures in danger.

Hoggin up the road with his p-p-plower, chugga-lug-luggin 5 miles an hour..... :rolf: :flipoff1:

Minus an incident a few weeks back where I got a warning ticket, I abide by the law. I do not roll through stop signs, I signal and I rarely use my phone when driving. I noticed no one rebutted the 160mph comment.

BTW, the OP asked if he has a problem.....the answer is yes. Its not the worst problem you could have, safer than drinking, ****ing or texting while driving, but a problem nonetheless.

190. Sport bike. 165 in a car
You got me beat, 190 sportbike and 140 in my old Z06 Vette. Actually 191 on bike speedo, but at that speed, it probably differs from GPS speed a few mph anyways, so it doesn't matter lol.

I will say I felt much safer doing 190 on a bike than 140 in that vette. I don't like high speeds in a car for some reason.

I topped my bike out at 190 one time racing an old dude in a built C5 Z06 and he was still pulling on me! I quit messing with Vettes after that lol. And when I say old, he was solid gray hair. Met him in Chattanooga later that evening and got to talk to him, he spent a lot of money on that car, said he just got it back from having suspension work done. Sumbitch had brass balls to outrun me! He ****ed with us too, we were just cruising and he blew by us so I geared down and took off to catch him. The vette def had more top end pulling than my 1000cc 180hp 400 lb bike. I couldn't believe it.
