I am the fastest person on the interstate....do I have a problem?

I did it in an rx7 turbo car. It was not smooth. Very unsettling. It was a mean ass little car. It was a retired rally racer. I had a lot of fun with the car but went to jail because of it a time or two. It was also downhill. There was a point where I wondered how bad I had possibly ****ed up by seeing how fast I could get it. I was young and stupid. Now I just do it in nicer newer cars that are smooth at 130. :****:

The sport bike at 190 was scuuurry. It felt like it was going to suck my helmet off. That was about all it had in it. I just wanted to see what it was like. It wasn't uncommon to go 130-150 occasionally but that was crazy. Front end was feeling a little light too. I don't believe I'll ever do that again.

I had to do a double take at the title, I missed the "s" in fastest........it makes more sense now....ha

I drive the pace of the surrounding traffic to keep from getting run over. But when the crowd clears, I drive about 4 mph over the posted limit. I'm pulling a trailer about 70% of the time, but my driving style is the same when I'm not towing.

That being said, I grew up riding shot gun with my dad in the semi, I learned really young what it takes to drive one safely and spend lots of effort while driving trying to make sure I'm not "that guy".

:rolf: :rolf: I liked that more than I should of. 150 in freakin SHO Taurus :****: and that was also in a 55 zone.

Al this makes me wonder, what's the largest speeding ticket you've ever gotten? I unfortunately had a REALLY bad driving record when I was younger. I got a 104 in a 70 once. Also got a 98 in a 65. Both state troopers.

Re:

I never had any really high speeding tickets because I always ran and alway got away (on motorcycle). All 4 reckless driving tickets were for riding wheelies and didn't have the chance to run. However, I did get a 74 in a 40 one time.....and a DUI in the same stop. Lol. That sucked. Again, in my wilder days.

Re:

64 in a 55 in a ****ing piece of **** samurai when I was 19. Cop pulled me over and asked if I knew why he pulled me over. The thing was falling apart and I didn't wanna get started on the reasons he could've given me a ticket, but I was blown away when he told me I was speeding and how fast I was going. Told him I didn't think it could speed so I always just held it to the floor. Must've been going down hill when he got me.

Re:

My very first speeding ticket ever....on my way to spring break myrtle beach when I was 17. 143 in a 65.

Pulled over all 3 of us in our convoy....me in a turbod acura integra....buddy in his twin turbo Stealth and other buddy in his 300z TTYL.

I spent alota money that day and cut a day short from our week trip.

The most scary part was riding in the back of the cop car (already scared like a lil bitch)and my buddy in the Stealth pulls out a money clip of 3grand and asks the cop driving "how much of this do you need to let us outa this car and forget we met?" Cop says "I don't take payoffs but that'll be a nice addition on your arrest record." <<<<gulp>>>>

Not jinxing myself but only had 2 tickets after that about 10 years ago. 75s in 60s leaving the dragstrip in Crossville 2 months apart.

190. Sport bike. 165 in a car

Damnit man, we're actually more alike than I would normally care to admit but....I have also been 190 on a R1 and 165 in the Magnum SRT8. I've still got the 165 saved in my GPS :****:

BTW, the OP asked if he has a problem.....the answer is yes. Its not the worst problem you could have, safer than drinking, ****ing or texting while driving, but a problem nonetheless.
Or taking pictures of your car going 100 mph.

So what's the fastest y'all have been on the interstate? :stir:

137 in an LEO Dodge Charger, but on a two lane highway. Have to admit, it was kind of scary. I'm not a go fast guy anymore, that's why I'm into crawling.

In all honesty I have probably gone faster than about anyone here at some point a long time ago.... I never once felt like I had the right to go that fast but I DID make the decision to do it... Having lived and learned when I did it I was dead wrong and it is only by dumb luck that I didn't destroy people's lives...

The actual numbers aren't important but I'll say nobody has posted higher numbers in this thread yet...

My screen name dates back about 20 years to my first forum which was offroad.com iirc...

I had a very built Suzuki lt-500r that would go way over 100 mph and I spent a bunch of time racing it at st joe state park in missouri on the sand flats.

I look back at the stupid chit I did in my 20's and early 30's and it makes me sick thinking about just how fast things could have gone really wrong...

More illegal???? Well sure... Steal a pack of gum and you'll likely just get banned from the store... Rob a bank with an AK and you're not gonna be paying rent for a loooong time... There is a reason that penalties are different for different crimes. Some ARE much worse than others.

Same with traffic offenses... Infraction, misdemeanor, first, second, third, etc, degree felonies....

Doesn't matter... Point is it was stupid... Wish I could go back and undo it and am REALLY thankful that I didn't hurt anyone.

170 in a Nissan station wagon on the Autobahn, only stopped there because it ran out of gear. 176 on a borrowed bike, some sort of race bike converted back to streetable. Aprilla something or other, I know **** all about bikes, hell I can barely ride one. :****:
