• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

My 321 Build

Got a bunch of work done today. Harnesses mounted, HIDs installed, Shocker Tabs welded on and Power Steering Pump & Reservoir Installed. Here is the pictures of the pump with cut down OEM Bracket. All I had to fab was the bracket to mount the reservoir to the side of the accessory bracket. The reservoir does stick up high, but per Lance this is the only way to do it so the fluid dumps straight down into the pump. Later on if this pump does good, I will have a custom reservoir made to help get it lower.

Removed Factory Bracket

Forgot to show a picture of this earlier. But it is a painless brake switch from Jegs. Get the pigtail with it cause it is a special connector on the switch. it is 1/8 NPT.

Shocker Tab welded on. Thanks to MJP for cutting these out for me.

I will get Adam Woodlee to look at when I get it running. It will have to be funny shaped, like triangle, rectangle or hexagonal to fit under the engine cage just right. And then would have to have the dynomat wrapped around it to keep the heat from the header from getting it hot. If I flip it how it is now, the engine cage is actually taller, so maybe I will get lucky over the next few rides and keep it on all 4.

So just to catch everyone up. My spidertrax axles haven't made it in yet. So I can ride New Years I got a Sterling 10.25 from EOR so my gears would work. Got it all cleaned up and the lower links and shock mounts done today. I hope to have the truss and upper links done tomorrow. JR Hall and his buddy is coming over Sat. to do my hydraulic lines. So maybe by Sunday I can run it down the road.

And for all of you finger pointers like JR , I am dumping the rear drums and going disc brakes. Actually one of the drums was seized on cause the brake pad was shot and I had to bust the drum off. So no drums on this rig...

Not many people have a spare rear end on the shelf with tabs and all ready to go in with a few turns of the wrench.

Well it will be nice having this axle so if I break the steering and have to wait 2 months for spidertrax to get me a new set I can still ride. I plan on buying another gear set for the other axle and getting Jimmy to install it. So I don't have to swap gear sets or wait for another one to come in.

I got home at 3:00 and worked out in the shop till 12:00 . I got the rear truss done . Rear Diff Cover done. Upper link mounts done. All I like is a couple braces to box the shock tabs in and 1 more brace on the truss.

Very productive weekend. Just now getting in. So I got the rear axle cleaned trussed and painted. The rotors I got was wrong so I will get the disc on tomorrow. I have the buggy setting at ride height in the pictures. Shelley did the skins out of poster board and I cut them out. She said to make sure everyone knew she done that.... :thanks . It is great to have your wife enjoy the sport enough to help some. I got the skins painted but had a few blips.... :woot But it will be ok until I get my wraps.
Hydraulic hoses will be here tomorrow and it is either going to EOR for Coil Springs or to the Exhaust Shop this week. I would prefer EOR so I feel safe leaving it with someone. It is setting on blocks strapped to the axle. Well I will get more pictures tomorrow.

Skins look cool, like the design it adds to the look. Did you find a sheet of posterboard big enough to do the skins or did you tape a bunch of smaller pieces together? I am doing mine this week also.

Taped a bunch of smaller ones together. Shelley brought out the scrap booking skills ....lol... Also one thing you can't see is the foot holes in the side.

Sweet Josh/ Shelley, keep it up. :dblthumb:

skins look good its going to be a bad ass ride keep up the good work

Really don't know ride height yet. Depends on the springs they have at EOR. I will not be running a grill . Well not now any way. And for the winch, I have a sponsor www.motoalliance.comhttp:// that I am getting their new Elite Series winch. Comes in 8,000 , 10,000 and 12,000. It is wireless and also has a plug in remote. Also comes with fairlead, synthetic rope. If this winch is like any of their other smaller winches I will trust it with my life. Their 4500lb saved me at windrock last year.

JR Hall is taking the rig to Clanton Muffler in the morning to get my exhaust done. Jr has helped me get parts and take parts several times during this build. Thanks man for the help. If the exhaust is done by the time I get off work then I am taking it to EOR also.
