Pokeys rebuild

Shouldn't these be different sizes?
I understand they will be sandwiching the body which will hold the cage but won't the two same size plates act as a punch on the body? Are the stock body mounts being used to hold the body?

Please keep the pictures coming.

If it wasn't going to be attached to the frame, then yes they should be different sizes.

Next up was the frame mounts. Jim wanted them mount on poly bushing so he ordered some nice poly bushing with the metal sleeve:

With the tabs on the frame done it was time to make the legs:

Pokey Jr. :fawkdancesmiley:

Hey I have to keep pace :haha: No my physical therapist told me to rest after PT so with PT twice a week it kind of slows things down :booo:

I will be in Donner this weekend. My Dad will be around though. :awesomework:

I finally got off my butt and picked up an new welding helmet yesterday and if anyone is looking for a very nice auto darkening helmet I highly recommend this one: http://www.welders-direct.com/merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=WD&Product_Code=216322.

Talk about a huge difference over your standard small windowed POS helmet.

Excellent magnifying lens holding system holds magnifying lens securely in place while allowing for vertical adjustment.

thats what im talking about....

progress is progress

looking good so far

After going down to Donner to watch Pook and Money blow up their stuff it was time to get back on it.

First order of business was to move the cage so I could finish welding a few spots and make the last couple of holes for the A pillar.

Damn I hate when that happens

Good thing the CO2 tank was full so I could finish welding stuff up, bolt the cage in and get started on the seat mounts tomorrow.

Also got the driver side nerf bar on too.

More progress

Little seat mount action

Jim was by earler said to go ahead and cut the filler neck area but I decided to work around it and make it so he could get the fuel tank out easily if he needed to:

It added more time to the process but I think it was worth it.

Passenger side was a breeze. Just a couple different planes and two bends

Getting the seat sliders on so I can figure out the finishing touches:

Of course they include hardware to mount the slider pieces together but not to mount it to the seat itself, so another hardware run is in order.

Little bit more

Make a little more room for the seat

010-2.jpg

Also got the bars running side to side for the seats. Couple of tabs and the seat will be in there. Once again the goal was to get the seats in a comfortable location and make the tank easily removed.

Thing's lookin' sweet Jim!!!:awesomework: (nice work AMJ!:awesomework: ); You know, no matter how much you bitch about all the hard work & $$$$$$$$$$ you put into it, it'll all be worth it when you finally get to take it out for it's inaugural run; should perform well, judging by what you've got into it!!!:cheer: I only hope the rear d-line angle is ok once loaded down (like you said)......

Thanks Kev. Andy does awsome work and fits are just perfect:cheer: I am planning on taking out the add a leaves to drop the thing down a bit and maybe lowering the TC as well. Looking at the oldman EMU springs at least for the rear for the double wrapped eye.
