Project "Secret Squirrel"

thanks jack, i'll have to bug mike about it then:D

I may have them somewhere too....I will poke around and see what I have. It turns out really nice useing the OEM parts, it looks good in the pictures but in person it's even cleaner.

cool, ya i need to get that hairball figured out, then find a good brake booster that's small enough to fit in the space close to a stock luv one, but have enough power to stop 39.5s on a D44 and 14FF:mad: .

I figure it will sit about 1" taller than it is now and we are GOOD to go....

I have the part #'s in my black book:awesomework:

for the brake lines try looking into 78 malibu front brakelines they are short and sae not metric. For the booster I would look at a full size cherokee.

Ok so I have been poking along. I did a bunch of welding on the joints till I got bored of that :D So since I waiting for more parts for the fuel system I figured I would leap into the passenger area and try to get some of that small time consuming stuff done up...

So I got all the tabs made/welded to the cross bars for the seats. I also figured out how I was going to mount the center console...

jack212.jpg

Here is the new center console. When I built my rig I did alot of research for a lockable/tough center console that had to meet my width requirement. What I found was a toughy center console for a zuk(go figure--a zuk, lol) But the mount turned out perfect and should do the trick...

And here are the seats bolted into place for fitment.

Since the rig has duel batteries I prefer to run a manual master battery switch. I prefer to keep things as simple as possable and have never believed in any of those fancy battery isolators or soloniod setups. So another thing I did was make a mount for the battery switch.

jack216.jpg

Now I just gotta figure out where in the hell I wana put the damn thing :D

Progress was slow today--my shop was a WRECK and I had a bunch of new stuff to organize so I spent a good part of the moring taking care of that. Jack also showed up with a bunch of badly needed fuel aprts so now I could figure out where the fuel pump might go. So I built a holding fixture for the pump and finally figured out where I wanted it to go. At the same time I also figured out where I wanted the master battery switch to go...

I have always preferd to try and keep the master battery switch as close as possable to the batteries. Now the switch is not 100% safe from the elements but it will be hidding up under the fuel cell and with a little water proofing the switch should be as safe as it can be and should not see any failure from water. So I started building cables for the batteries and hope to have that done next.

I sat in it today and made vrrrm vrrrm sounds, doesn't go very fast but Mike, you have got it spot on. KJeep Up the Great Work!:awesomework:

WOW....what were you doing out at mike's this morning? Did Sarah kick you out of the house last night so you had to stay with the sami instead:stirpot:

I WISH! I Instead had to go to a show I would not admit to going to...ever.:haha:

Well I sunk my head into the back area again and tried to get some of this smaller stuff done up. So I had to make an early parts run and grabbed some goodies :D
So today I was able to get all the battery cables done and all the fuel lines done up to where the sheet metal ends (The hard part was getting to that point)
So some battery/cable shots

jack220.jpg

As you can see its kinda tucked up in there once the fuel cell is on..

jack221.jpg

Some more cables--Back when I built my rig I fell in love with the marine style/stuf style of battery cable ends. Have been using them ever since on all the rigs I giuld.

Ever have one of those days where you could not bend something to save your soul? I had like a 3 hour spurt of it--talk about frustrating but I worked past it finally :D

Here is some bling

jack224.jpg

Ok it might not be blingage--but for what they cost--we can call it blingage :D

Here is my post filter of choice (there is a pre pump filter under the tank)--o-ring style gm filter. Its easily accessed and pops right off with a twist of the hose clamp..

jack225.jpg

So fuel line thingy's :D

Wow! When you arrive at this point is sure seems that its leaps and bounds!

Lookin TIEEEGHT!

Went back out there again late last night and finished running the mian power cable to the junction block---p0layed with your headlights and horn :redneck:

Nice work there mister. It is always good to see someone take time and do a great job like that.

Thanks bobby--its coming together nicely...
