Reiter Pass's a SEPA (that means it's opening)

From the sounds of it there will be a seperation of usergroups with how the areas will be laid out--so bikes would not even be in the 4x4 areas--from how I understand it.
Yep you are right
Go back to this thread and it will show the areas

The bikes and quads will have a trail threw the 4x4 area to get to the designated areas

I think bikes and quads should be allowed on the 4x4 area as long as they are accompanied by a 4x4 and traveling at the same speed as the group is going

SEPA aproval is awesome news!!! :cheer:

No...

I do know we won't be allowed in "their" area's.

Just remember there is a difference between being "allowed" in an area and having "Trails" for that group. Nothing has been set in stone yet and I have heard some stuff at the Focus Group firsthand that I think would be a real hard sell. Like requiring people to have rigs equipped a certain way or get a ticket. :haha: I think it was something like have a 4-point harness and helmet for this trail and minimum of 40's.

I really don't think bikes and quads will ever require an "escort" to pass through the 4x4 areas.

This was not what Charlie was implying--what he stated was he thinks bikes/quads should be welcome to run with the 4x4's in their trails as long as they're (you're) ok with traveling at the same rate and don't get pissed off due to their pace...:awesomework:

Is someone smoking crack?

Ok Neil before you take everything the wrong way, there is no mention of an escort. I said

That means
For instance crash is out there with his kids and he is driving his rig and his kids are on their 4 wheelers, That they should be able to travel as a family
But it I think that the 4x4 trail system should not be a regular place for the bikes to ride and if in that area they follow all of the rules as if they were a 4x4. That means no passing a rig on one lane trails till an designated pull off

Again you draw conclusions with not all the info. I think to what you were trying to discuses is that if class 5 trails were built that certain safety devices would be mandatory before you could enter those areas. I hope you as a leader in your community would appreciate that certain safety rules should be enforced on trails of higher caliber
Please do more research on what a class 5 trail is and after that I hope that you agree that certain trails should have a certain equipment and personal safety rating

Some idea's are good, some are bad.

Bottom line....there will be rules and there needs to a happy medium agreed by ALL involved.

If we can't agree and come to a conclusion......the DNR will make those decisions for us.

Of course if the bikes want to race threw the 4x4 area and rip it up

Then documentation of the offenders

I'm not trying to get anything out of context....but what is the difference between being "escorted by a 4x4" or "being accompanied by a 4x4"?

I agree that certain risks should be minimized when you can. But you know as well as I do that we can't even keep people on Quads wearing helmets no less the local High Scool kid in his flatbed Yota. It would be great to enforce and should be enforced....but just not realistic in my opinion.:;

Not exactly how he just explained it in my opinion. I agree with what you said though.

Some aspects that need to be looked at with single track being on 4x4 trails and the main one is speed. Look at how fast single track riders move on there trails--throw them onto a trail thats much wider and typicly what I have seen is SPEED.

Another aspect is aggrevation from bikes coming up to a 4x4 vehicle thats typicly "much" slower.

I think the DNR is looking at those aspects.
