Reiter Pass's a SEPA (that means it's opening)

Some aspects that need to be looked at with single track being on 4x4 trails and the main one is speed. Look at how fast single track riders move on there trails--throw them onto a trail thats much wider and typicly what I have seen is SPEED.

Another aspect is aggrevation from bikes coming up to a 4x4 vehicle thats typicly "much" slower.

I think the DNR is looking at those aspects.

It is a good and valid point... I just don't think that saying they need to be accompanying a 4x4 to be in their area is the answer. My bike will overheat if I leave it idle for more than a few minutes so I wouldn't want to get stuck behind you. :fawkdancesmiley:

Fawk you 4x4er's I'll ride my bike on all your gawd damn trails all I want...

We sound like little girls I see no reason bikes can not be on a 4x4 trail but if it is at all possible I wouldn't mind not forcing the bikes to take a 4x4 trail to get to a bike trail if they could be seperate from the trail head that would be the best option...

But I would like to see a standard bike (not a trials bike) be ridin through the OM:fawkdancesmiley:

Case in point, and an example:
Our last outing at Walker we were coming to the intersection where Expressway and Upper Mainline come together (little rock garden if you will!:redneck:), we were headed out of expressway turning left to head up the trail---about 1/2 our group (6 rigs total) were already around the corner when a small group of ATV's came up from the right at that intesection, and one in our group that was right at the corner overheard the leading ATVer yelling back to the guy behind him "There are 4x4's on OUR trail!!!"...I heard the last bit as I was right behind Len. Len then asked him what he said (just to be sure he heard it right) so he could 'educate' him in the fact that he was indeed on a designated 4x4 trail, and the guy responded with "Nothing, was just hollering at my buddy"....and their group took off ahead of us.
Education, and knowing what rules apply in a given area (and abiding by them), can go a long ways toward extinguishing a potential 'fire' as it were! But they (users in general) must be willing to actually listen, not just hear....

I could care less if dirtbikes are on 4x4 trails. More power to you. I say the less rules out there the better. Live, and let live. Wheel, and let wheel.

Did you get off their trail? :fawkdancesmiley:

j/k... I understand that we all need to help with E&E but it's frustrating because there always seems to be another uninformed user right around the corner.

This is interesting. Size limits.

"The plan includes consideration of motorcycle, ATV and 4x4 trails; however, the plan does call for placing upper limitations on vehicle width and/or vehicle size that will restrict some types of vehicles from riding on trails (see page 17 of the plan). During site-specific trail design a trail system will be identified that show how the motorized system will be connected (4x4 trails,
single track, double track)."

There is a lot of comments about width and what should be allowed and where. The only consistent thing is that single tracks will only have bikes on them. Talk of quad trails set at 54

Yup, and it will never end....That's what E&E's all about....trying to get the word out to folks that are uninformed!!! It'll never end!:stirpot::redneck:

That's very interesting that they're seperating the usergroups like that.
Segregation is still alive and kicking! :haha: I kinda feel this further limits the usable space for ALL usergroups... Try and fit a pentagon, circle, and triangle, into a square and there's bound to be empty space. I think the seperation is silly to a point. I've seen motorcycles on the Naches Trail....Maybe there is a better understanding that it's a 4x4 trail first and a dirtbike trail second so they aren't usually being a-holes and flying up the trail trying to be travis pastrana.

Again....E & E....

Well, I'm sure it's been discussed Boonie, or being....It's just a matter of trying to do the right thing by attempting to edumucate folks out there that aren't so much!!!:redneck:

Ya, I always say (my assumptions:rolleyes:) that the reason reiter is worse (knuckleheads) is because of how easy it is to access. You have to plan a trip to go to Naches, hence the only knuckleheads you get are the SMALL handfull that live nearby as opposed to the MILLIONS that live in Gold Bar/Sultan to Everett/Marysville areas. the Knucklehead to ORV Area Ratio is very high around reiter. :redneck:

I am all for restricted trail travel. The problem comes up when a user is going to fast and finds an obstical around a sharp corner that then sends them flying to their death. Or large rocks they cant make it over.

It would be the same with a wheeler on a single track trail between two trees that are close together.

For the trails to be everything friendly they are to easy for a mildly built wheeler.

What ends up happening is bypasses.

The way I understand it is a stypical two track trail is two tracks maximum so bikes and quads are OK....as it should be. Sounds like the real issue is the bikes possibly going too fast? Just make a speed limit. Of course nobody has a speedometer but they get the idea that they have to slow down for slower traffic and if they don't just clothsline them as they go by.:awesomework:
