I`m a rookie when it comes to smoking. I built this double barrel smoker. This 6.25lb butt turned out awesome. Made my own rub, vinegar and water blend in the pan. Sprayed apple juice every two hrs. Cooked at 220 for about 6 hrs. Then cooked till done wrapped in foil. Let sit for 45 min. Un wrapped, shredded then poured its own juices on it. Didn't even need bbq sauce. :dblthumb:

I really need to build myself a unit like that. I picked up a masterbuilt propane dealy just out of convenience but sliding out racks and opening the main door just to add wood is a bit of a pain. Propane is nice for the temp control though.

How does that work & reg temps? Ive thought about the same thing. Do you put coals and wood in the bottom or keep a fire going?

I got a double barrel I built about 8 years ago out of a couple of racing fuel barrels, works pretty good, just got to build a fire and let it burn a couple of hours and get a good coal bed, then it's easy to keep the temp regulated. Broke her out today for the first time in a while!

What's everyone's thoughts on the eggs? Are they worth the coin or not?

Sure, make me a lot of coin! Actually one of our lower profit % items, but we sell 750 a year.

I keep talking myself out of one. I have a stainless guts Weber gas grill and an old smoker. The Weber is a good grill. Just something about the egg is appealing. If I were to ever buy one it would be from you.
