Yellow buggy build

Has the engine blown up in this yet?
Actually yes it did. It was pretty spectacular. I was fighting belt slip so I swapped pulleys and took it for a spin. I dont know how much boost it made because the map sensor only reads up to 14psi. But between the boost, compression, 93 octane fuel, and one good long full throttle blast, I managed to demolish all the rod bearings.

So after that instance I decided to eliminate the Microsquirt and go to a factory ECM. Needing an engine, harness, and ECU it seemed like the best thing to do was buy a whole car. $1,200 and this beauty was mine. Had to be a 06-07 model to have the E67 ECU.

Did the new thread inserts for the head bolts and knocked the compression down a little by opening up the combustion chambers while it was apart

Then I had to make an adapter to use the drive by wire throttle body on the supercharger. I could have used the throttle body that came with the supercharger, but GM's ecms dont much care for swapping throttle body styles, plus the new Caddy came with a 90mm throttle body which was a good bit bigger than the 68mm one on the supercharger.

Finally stuck the new engine in and got it tuned and ready to ride. The original setup had the alternator running off the cam. It worked ok, but between the electric fans and electric water pump it couldnt keep up at Idle. So with the new engine, I built some new brackets to mount the alternator up front running off the accesory belt.

Tuning it was a breeze because I also own a Cadillac STS. It just happens to have the rear wheel drive version of the same engine, supercharger, and ECM. I actually bought the supercharger first, then found the car to go with it

Since I already worked out a good tune with the STS, all I had to do was copy and paste it into the buggy's ECM.

The engine swap all happened a couple years ago.

Since then it finally got some 40 spline big bell RCV'S thanks to a buddy hookup. No need for drive slugs with these guys!
