555 "Black Betty"

Got back from a week in DisneyWorld to find the fence finally done at the shop.

Got a power gate on one side, and manual on the other. Looks great, but I'm a bit unnerved on the lightduty-ness of the materials. Guess its really only there to keep the honest man honest.

And the inside construction coming along. I mean, whats 3 months over schedule. F-ing contractors. Bunch of worthless ****s. And when I went and tried to get rebids and two new bids to start or fix where this douchbag was they all doubled their price, cuase they didnt want to **** with other peoples ****ups... So **** ****. Ended up married to a worthless turd on this.

Shower

Laundry next to shower

Kitchenish area, note you can see into the shop

Got my uncle making some Bandera stone countertops.

View out one of the windows into the shop of the Rivi.

Slowly getting **** moved over. Pallet racks are up. Got my open gooseneck backed in there now to be unloaded. Floors still need reswept and actually mopped, but thats going to wait a bit.

I believe his old man lives in their old shop, but it might just be on an "as needed" basis.
We are keeping the old shop and he plans to stay living there, the buildout happening for a multitude of reasons. The major one being if the right bid comes along for the old place we can sell and walk on it in days vs. a month+.
Or if my wife decides to punt me, I've got a crash pad already. loller.gif

Cartwheels motherfuckers! My contractor is finally gone. Job ain't done, but finally got rid of this parasite.

Car progress.
One of the major things lacking was the Swaybar build. PAC Springs has really stepped it up.
Getting a 1.375" active diameter shaft, and arms will be 26" long.
For comparison, Eric Miller and Mike Colville both have 1.25" active diameter with 15" arm setups.

so you will have less effective roll control? Those arms being almost a foot longer is way more leverage yes? More travel available side to side without overtwisting the bar any at all, but those seem long.
More leverage yes. Less roll control, barely as my bar is making up for the longer arms with thicker active diameter.
PAC has a couple desert trucks out there that they support that have 34-36" arms.
My arm length is dictated by distance from axle to back of fuel cell. 26" looked to be the shortest we wanted to go and still retain a good amount of fuel.

Car was coming along very nicely.
Then Dave Cole went and moved the Championship from Texas to Vegas and back a week (don't blame Dave for it, Vegas should be a better venue). So Rick and I talked on a Monday, we agreed no need to mad thrash to be done. I'm not going to Vegas, and I have a full 24Hour Lemons race 15 miles from my house that weekend running 2 cars.
At 2am the next morning Ricks wife Cassandra had a heartattack, blood clots got into her heart. She's alive, and they released her yesterday from Havasu Regional. Blood thinners and some permanent tissue damage in her heart. 30 years old and very healthy. I cant imagine nearly losing my wife. That guy is an oak in talking to him about all of what they are going through.

Plan is now to get done, test it a lot this winter and then 1st race it at the Parker425 in Feb (weekend before KOH). Since there is likely no other 4400's there, I'll probably register Class1 and ask for a back of the class start. Or go big balls and qualify on Thursday with the casino owners.... molaugh

Glad it's still going. Can't wait to see it and for shits n grins I would like to see it race.

I've been wanting an excuse to head to that track west of FT Worth.

Why did they cancel U4 race there?

Word I heard was Dave got a better deal to race near Las Vegas, and he expected his exposure to be better than than middle of no where Texas. I think hes right, but if you are already in Vegas, why not just do it at the Hammers.....
