Why is it that people who are not involved to begin with who only wheel and do nothing else to help reiter, all of a sudden want to step in when they hear it is closing - and its not even closing for good.
The fact that its closing temporarily is a good thing at this time, so we can move forward with making Reiter Foothills a legitimate place to wheel for all users in the future.

If you feel that there is no one there to represent you, then maybe you should get involved with a group or association that is currently active in what is transpiring at Reiter, or for that matter, in the wheeling community in general. Somewhere within one of those established organizations, you can vote for your representative, and feel that your concerns are adequately addressed, and then relayed back accordingly.

I think that a lot of the people that are posting about this are helping in one way or another Rick...

This dialog is answering a lot of questions that people want to know about...

I do--and its good. I just don't have the time right now and if you can bear with me I will tell you all what I know.

See here's the thing, if people are informed then they are less likely to have a mob mentality toward this...

I'm not trying to undermined your involvement or the hard work you've been doing, I just notice how sensitive people are about this matter...

So Crash, do you have any insight as to when Reiter will be opened back up???

I am not crash but I can answer the question. We do not know when it will re-open at this point. It all depends on how long the trail planning and the work takes for everything that is about to take place.
As all of us have stated we do not at the current moment, know what exactly is happening. We will know more after next Tuesday.

Unfortunately I am not... I like so many others haven't been involve with the rebuilding up at Reiter... I've been focused on Elbe for the last couple of years...

I've been watching from a far on the internet...:booo:

If and a big If it ever reopens or needs volunteers to help reopen I WILL be there to help!

Hopefully it will reopen again. There is nothing in WA that is close to the wheeling experience Reiter gives.

Sorry guys I was hoping somebody from last nigth would pop in--but I only have a few so here ar the facts.

First the meeting--this is part of the pre-planning for the ORV park --some things have to be roughed in before the ORV public meeting can be aproved by DNR and public meeting on it

the area is closing the 2nd(again we are hoping just the upper).

The area is being closed down so planning and building of 1-parking camping area and 2 trail plan made and built. Now I know some will say well the area should stay open. My opnion is you cannot build an ORV area(not improve and build up on an established area like elbe/evans and so forth)when its in use..

This is all I know right now and from my standpoint this is great--we have to give up something for a while.

How long--that will depend on funds and "VOLUNTEER HELP" to get the trails made.

Again this is what I know guys....

ok--I have spent too much time I gotta make some $$$

What a lot of people don't seem to understand is that sometimes 'numbers' are a good thing. This time however, based on the circumstances of the focus group meeting they are not. This entire matter has already gotten way out of hand.
What the DNR has planned is already set in motion, and is going to happen no matter how many people show up at this meeting. This is a chance for the DNR to sit down with us and discuss what is going on so we are able to relay it to our fellow users.
For example: do you guys show up to every meeting the state has involving every issue that may ever affect each aspect of your life? Is the public let into every meeting the government has with corporations or with other Countries? The answer to those aforementioned situations is likely a resounding "NO". There is a reason for only a certain number of people being invited to certain events. People need to realize that we are not self elected into this. Those of us who are going to attend this user group meeting next Tuesday, have invested a great deal to make these next steps viable, and to be in the position we are in and have the responsibilities we have. Please do not take this the wrong way, but please let us do our jobs at this point, and we will inform everyone of what we know, as it happens.
