• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

My 321 Build

Thanks everyone. Honestly a ton of thought has gone into this thing... Even though you get a chassis there is some many ways to finish it up and make it custom to your needs. Here is some more pictures of the engine cage including the side view I promised. If you need more or exact measurements let me know. Honestly the best way to start is to get your top piece done/designed. Make some blocks to hold it away from your engine intake and get it centered. Then decide on how you want your legs to go. I tried to gain as much support as possible. But since my firewall has to be removed I could not hit the A pillar like I wanted to. I do believe this will protect my engine....

I don't know yet. Maybe get one of the local shops to make a custom aluminum hood for it. It would just be something else to tear up when I flip.

the stinger isn't tall enought to do ****, therefor frony clip is going to begone... :'(

So I have been knocking out the little things today. Still waiting on some parts before I move on to other things.

Decided to mount the computer under the seat. I had so much harness wire I had to do something with it. It is protected here.

I got my rear steer cylinder mounted. I used 1/4 tabs on the tie rod and will box them in to keep them from spreading apart. The axle mount is 1/4 plate cut and boxed into the axle.

I got the front truss done today. Maybe tomorrow I can finish with the front steering. I also got my steering stops cut out and welded on the spidertrax knuckles. I still like gusseting them.

100% welded. I took my time and made the truss fit the chunk so it could be sealed up.

I burned the welds in on high, it shouldn't go any where.

Steering stops. Felt better about it having more surface contact then just on the ends.

I cut out my design on a piece of cardboard. Actually a empty beer box..... Then traced it on to my steel , torched it out. Cleaned it. Then took a piece of 1/8" and hammered it out to the correct radius and welded it up. Used a flap disc to clean it up.

Nope just some good ole Bud Light a case of course. I have went through 3 of them since I have been off work and working on this buggy. It helps me think...

I got the front steering almost finished. Built Tie-Rod , Built bracket on truss and attached plates to tie-rod for the end of the cylinder. I still like boxing in the plates on the tie-rod and a little cleaning up. My axle seals came in for the rear so tomorrow I plan on finishing the steering stops and painting. Rear will be finished at that point.
