rutted trail near Primos and it was laying over on it's side at full throttle but it seemed to run just fine

Yep, tha'ts what did it. Sure it lost oil pressure at high revs. Does not take long, remember BigWoody at WindRock. No oil pressure, cut it off. That is the reason I have duplicate gauges in the buggy on both oil pressure and water temp.

Cole, I have a complete 350 that I got from Joe when all the engine trading was going on. If it will help you, let me know, we can work something out.

Thanks John, but hopefully I will be able to get it fixed pretty quick.
I will have new Mechanical Gauges installed when my motor is fixed. I am tired of my gauges not working like they should. Also thinking about an Oil Accumulator.

has anyone seen any dry sump setups on crawlers? oil accumulator is a good piece of insurance.

And remember big blocks dont twist as high as a small bock,6 months you say that means there will be room in dp's shop. I can do my boat side while Knocking on Heavens Door(aka fireball) isnt in there :flipgotcha:

I seriously don't wheel that hard compared to alot of people around here. I just happen to have a video camera with me most of the time.

not including what.....the cyclones? that is a lot of sustained RPMs with poor oiling from the lateral motion of the oil....

i hate this for you b/c i love watching you step on your go pedal....

good luck with everything.....

Haven't seen them on a crawler yet, but I have them on my list to buy for my motor and trans. Alot cheaper than a new motor and trans will be when I put it on the side and want to mash on it. We ran one on the motor mud racing just in case it turns over and you can't hit the kill switch fast enough.

I think I remember seeing that woodlee midplated that thing. the 496 BB is different IIRC than the older BB's. if it were a simple swap like big block to big block with cole's injection straight to the other motor/350, I would say yes, run a smoker/loaner til you get the bottom end good as new and the cam better than new. with the cutom mounting that went on to get that 8.1 in there, there would be substantial frame/intake/exhaust mods to make it go. Looks to me like it will be fixed when the $ rolls around in a couple months. Cole, you know that come spring when everyone is going every weekend you'll throw some coin at it :flipoff1:
