I was curious as to if the limiter had been raised or not.

Put you in a good forged crank, h-beam rods and forged pistons and you'll be set.

Don't waste your time on the accumulator though. That is just my thoughts.
yes, but when he is on his side or top trying to drive out of a roll, its nice to have that extra few second of oil to a screaming motor

I run a accumulator in my rig and it is a type of insurance for me, may not ever need it but if i do it's there. I believe it releases the extra oil when your pressure drops below 10 pounds. Cole sorry to hear bout your motor, really sucks. Taking mine out this weekend and getting it freshened up and maybe a little more power. Jimbo pepper.gif

that's the impression I had. I feels its great insurance, especially for someone that may be on their side trying to drive out of a roll.....damn, i need one now :flipoff1:

Well we found out what caused all of this today and I can honestly say I couldn't believe my eyes.
Never seen anything like this before.

Look real close. Is that suppost to be in there.

Whats left of the piston

I got really lucky, and there isn't a whole lot of damage.
Somehow this hose clamp got in my intake. We believe that it has been in there since the factory.
Motor should be fixed be the end of next week, everything looked brand new and you could tell the motor didn't have very many miles on it.
Looks like I need
1 Rod
1Piston
machine work,
Rebuild kit which includes new gaskets, seals, bearings and a new oil pump, because you could tell alot of metal had been ran through mine.

Holy crap, that is insane. I'm sure the constant rolls dislodged it from its resting place and got busy on that ****. damn thats nuts.

X2 What freak fuggin luck ( bad and good depending on how you look at it I suppose ) You;ll be back in shape in no time man !! thumb.gif

Cole, was it still in the intake runner on the intake or is it in the head? I dont think that it got to the piston. It looks like it is undamaged.
Ir that is what caused the piston to blow apart it would have some damage to it. I think that I would keep looking.

It was in the valve chamber. You can't see in the picture, but you can tell where it contacted the piston.
Where are 99.9% sure that this is what caused it.

Ok just wanted to make sure. I would hate to repair that and have something else happen on startup... ASK me how it feels. ???

Interesting thought. But I'm thinking it jammed the intake valve open and that's where the damage came from. Total specualtion but that was my reaction when I saw the line clamp.

that's what I though, jammed th evalve wide open and it hit the piston. either way, you know better than us because you're looking at it and we are looking at 1 2D picture of it laughing. either way, I would check that valve for straightness and contact pattern, or maybe just fuggin replace it.

You guys are right, it jammed the valve open and hit the piston. We are replacing the valve and having the machine shop go over all the parts to make sure everything is the way it is suppost to be. I am sorry I am not good at explaining this. I was just in shock when I saw the clamp in there.

Cole you explained it clearly. And the picture backed that up. Dont doubt your knowledge.
You watch enough KungFu movies that when you go down to the Chinese laundry, Peng Teng Ping start makin sense to a brotha'.

if its at a shop they'll get it straight. I wonder if **** hit the other valve when there were parts all over. also, wonder if it crunched that pushrod (other valve, not the stuck one). just thinking out loud
Keep kicking him while he is down... ;D

But definately things to think about.

**** its out and apart... look at every damn thing so you dont repeat the out and apart anytime soon !! thumb.gif

That aint kickin him while he's down... thats common fuggin sense laughing
