The Barn 4x4's first buggy

Thanks alot guys. That means a lot comming from the caliber of rigs here.

I bought a lot of parts for it yesterday so I could continue on with the build.

I picked up:
2 Bilstein 7100 remote reservoir shocks 14" travel
2 sets of 5 point cam lock harnesses
8 7/8" chromoly heim joints 46,000 lbs
8 3/4" chromoly heim joints 32,000 lbs
quick release steering wheel

My 14" Fox 2.0's will be here this week, along with 2 more sticks of 1 3/4" tubbing, and 1 stick of 1 3/4" 6061 T6 hex for my links.

I hope to have axles under it in 2 weeks, I am picking up the drive train on Monday.

All I need now is rims and the hydraulic steering stuff.

I got the drivers side fit up to match the passenger side. I wasn't sure of the look at first but once the other side was in it really came together. No parts today. :(

Harnesses showed up.

I had a surprise waiting on me at work today........ got my lower link material. Glad I went with the 7/8" rod ends over the 3/4" ones...I machined the left had sides today. When we get ready to swing that axles under it Friday I will do the other side to the proper length.

I don't think I will be able to hurt these.

Stayed after work today and machined the misalignment spacers for the 7/8" heims. Swinging the axles under it tomorrow.

Here is todays progress. It was weird working on my buggy when I was supposed to be working but they have cut our hours to 32 a week and Friday and Monday is my turn to skip.

We did manage to get the motor, tranny, 1st t-case in. I got half of the rear t-case mount in. My dumb but forgot about the front driveshaft so I have to notch out my transmission mount to clear it. I was kinda bummed, and Joe just sat there laughing at me.......

Ok, some advice on the air shock placement. Does this look semi close to where they need to be to work good?

Here are the 4 link numbers as it sits. I will be able to adjust the squat numbers 20% in either direction.

Some brackets, the axle lower link mounts, the sub frame for the lower links, and to make air shock tunning easier I made an adjustable sub frame for the upper air shock mounts.

looks like your bolts might need to go in thru the other side ;D i had to cut some out of mine at the shock mounts cause i did the same thing laughing1 looks good!

Found a good deal local on some rollers for the toyota, so I pulled the 40's so I can get this thing standing on its own. Now that I see it I might go for a 113" wb.

I laid my hand open real bad Tuesday at work, and my entire family has been battling the stomach virus and strep so things have been slow. I managed to slink downstairs and get a little bit of work done. I'm sure a few of the hard core Toyota guys will cringe when they see what I have done to this mint condition '85 front housing.......

I plugged the stock drain plug and removed the factory brace so I could get the lower link brackets tacked in and start measuring for the upper link mount/truss.

I ordered a plasma cutter today, I should have waited on it to get the truss off....
