Re: Silver Bullet 2

I'm not posting pics( sorry I know it's boring) but I have it all painted. The axles, shocks, four link, wheels and tires are back under it. I have also mounted a few more little things. I hope to remount the drivetrain tomorrow afternoon. :driving:

Re: Silver Bullet 2

Not sure the exact date, but it will be in November. Unless I have unknown problems. If things don't change, it will be a Chocco Mountain first.

I like things like, the parking lot, rubicon trail, and the camp ground. Not much on the gas pedal style driving. molaugh

Re: Silver Bullet 2

Broke it in tonight. Not really a big deal with it being a full roller motor. Got it up to temp for about 15 minutes, turned the fan on one time and it immediatley dropped the temp from 190 to 160. Never missed a beat. Had to get a new propane system, the one I had didn't work for my app. It will turn it on TRUE HOTROD STYLE<> Idle to a little of 6K is very quick. Not sure on what it will do when I get to run it, but at this point, it makes my LS1 seem sick. We'll see.

Should get the steering done, the wiring and plumbing secured and cleaned up tomorrow. I'll do brake lines Friday, and try her out. All that will be left is installing my new winch line (thanks Josh) and heat shield and panels.

By the way, counter header paint sucks, cought on fire and burnt completely off. Now I'll have rusty header, ( I don't care, at this point, I'm ready to ride)

Re: Silver Bullet 2

Not sure yet. My LS1 would turn it on no doubt about it, but this motor sound way stonger. I won't know till I get it in a pull. The LS may have a little better off idle response as of now. But I don't have my timing set with a light yet.

Re: Silver Bullet 2

It's a 355, vortec heads. Heads have been freshened up and valves springs changed to a 120lb spring. Flats tops(12 to 1) 4-7 swap cam( I'm no engine guru, and I'll have to look back at the specs) has a strong idle, Forged bottom end, with a good set of rods. Topped off with an Edelbrock performer rpm intake, and MSD HEI Dest. Ricky Easterling built it. He builds race engines every day. He say it's the same engine he builds for most dirt track racers. LS1 with all the goodies I had was somewhere around 360hp with the tuning. This engine is somewhere around 360 to 375. LS1 torque is somewhere close to that, where this engine will make over 400. Not a beast of any sort, but it was built for reliability, and bottom end. All I'll need for now.
