Am I jaded??? I certainly think so, except I can back it up with reciepts, invoices, charges, and late parts, damaged parts, late and damaged parts, or just no parts.

Y'all know that saying "Fool me once...shame on you, fool me twice....shame on me" What does that say about me??? I guess I expect people to do what they say they'll do. I guess that is setting the bar way to muth&*%*&%)ING high!!!!!!

Yes still pissed. I am glad for this thread and being in private. Just a good chronicle of not just the cool portions of the build but the trials and tribulations of even attempting one.

Has anyone seen that movie "The Adjustment Bureau"? Thats what this feels like. Anything to make sure this thing doesnt get built.

Anyway, I still lack a handful of the large items needed to get the major building back on track. Hope to have them and get that ball rolling by end of summer, then its getting sent over to a buddies shop where he's going to finish out everything except wiring.

Ron Davis said not their problem, you have a problem with UPS. So I called Poly, Poly now has Ron Davis starting the UPS claim.

Sounded like UPS is an 8 day turn, before Ron Davis does anything. I told Poly if its another month before I get replacement items, to refund my money I'm done, I'm going elsewhere. They have the record that they refunded me a chunk of change on this order because of ****ing it up the 1st time and never putting it in with Ron Davis.
I also have a pretty good sized order on with Poly right now, and I said, I'll be canceling all business with Poly and Ron Davis as I can not continue business with you guys on these terms.

Wes @ Poly is supposed to be calling me tomorrow with a plan of attack. I am not holding my breath.

So are my expectations out of line?

That's BS. RD should send another radiator immediately and then file the claim with UPS on their own time, not your's. Even BTF did that for customers.

Man I feel your pain. After having gone through a full build myself I know how it can be. I guess when we (the little guys) are trying to buy parts our name goes to the bottom of the list on priority. The every day builders seem to be able to call and get parts with no wait. I have to say I did not have as many problems as you have had though. Hang in there though, it will be worth it in the end.

Here is links to pics of the damaged items that I sent to Wes @ Poly this morning.
I picked up both from the UPS distribution center in Stafford, TX last night. I can return to that location for the inspection that Wes said you guys are initiating with UPS.

I have to take off work early today to take my daughter to the Dr. and can swing by there after that. Would not be a hassle at all.

But please understand my stress on this, I ordered the first week of March via Poly after speaking with Dennis. Poly charged me on 3/12 and had told me 2 weeks (my notes show I placed order on the 8th). By beginning of April I still had nothing, I call, I was told Bailey never sent you guys the order to make. Poly's mistake. The order would be going in and it would be two weeks. They refunded me a small discount for the mistake on 4/5. Here is it first of May, almost two months since I ordered and I finally recieve product to have it damaged.

I do not blame any one specifically, I'm just needing the parts or I'll order from another vendor. 8 weeks is a long time to wait for these, and by the sounds of it I'll be waiting for another month. I just do not have that kind of patience to go 12 weeks on something I thought was going to be 2 weeks plus a few days to ship.

Thanks again, I went with Ron Davis for the quality, past performance of products, and Dennis.

The radiator looks to have some bent fins but are the cores OK?

The filler neck.....cut it off and put a new one on? Not you, RD.....seems like an easy fix for them.

Wyatt the replacement radiator and heat exchanger are all ready in production and estimated ship date is 5-9-2012

yep, but my point being its not just the high end stuff, or the custom stuff, its standard off the shelf junk thats just as ****ed.
I'm also waiting weeks now on some Liberty bumpstop replacements from Quadratec. Dealing with a non-shipping ebay seller on a clip for my Ruger LCP, as well as a gun supply house that has somehow managed to under-postage two of those small gunvaults. Not once but twice.

Luckily my tranny shop is here in town so I can go right over and rip if its ****ed.

I hope I'm just going through the bad lunar phase of my horoscope laughing1

I swear being on both sides of the fence its an epidemic in the off road industry to get parts when and as promised. Feel your pain man , dont let it discourage you and stay on top of your vendor's / contacts. IF it requires daily /weekly calls you stay on them and generally they will make it right. Just disappointing that you have to wear them out to do thier damn jobs laughing1

Have you ever kept up with the timeline on some of the builds on RDC. A lot of the builds (not shop) by guys like us, builds that actually do work, have been going on for several years. I want to say one of the badass F100s was started 5+ years ago.

Anyways I have been taking notes and I am planning a meeting with the wife tonight to show her importance of preordering parts. Thanks for the advice.

The offroad vendors are mostly ****. It is always a pain to get parts. I think it is mostly the buggy/hardcore crowd because I had no issues with parts for the JK ;D

I feel like progress has been made this week, but its still early.

Transmissions....
6 speed, automatic, tap shift on the wheel and handles all the power I got and then some. 6L80e, well that **** aint to be!

Apparently the ecm (Mast M-120) that is necessary for my big dumbass motor will not support any electronic transmissions. I have two options:
#1 swap from M-120 down to the M-90 ecm and handicap the motor due to the difference in Wide Band O2 vs Narrow Band O2.
#2 non-electronic trans.
What was suggested was TH400 w/ GearVendors Overdrive. Would have 6-speed then and a pretty nice O/D. But what I believe I have settled on is a 4l80 w/ manual VB.
Sure it would be cool to have 12 forward gears, but 8 should be enough. Sure the 1st gear wont be stupid low, but why do I need that for a freaking IFS Class1 poser car???

I want to give major kuddos to Brian Shirley, and Dave Smiley (whypave on pbb) for all of the 6L80 help, I am totally sold on that tranny if it werent for my motor ecm issue.
Also so far the Mast tech support (Damon) has been more than helpful, and Glenn @ Circle D Trans here in Houston. Now for the catch, tranny guy said "2 weeks". :****:

Last bit, UPR called to tell me they are expecting my Sparco's next week and shipping by end of month. They are getting 10 of these specific seats in "Large". 1&2 are going to BJ Baldwin, 3&4 are coming to me... Holy **** I feel like I'm on some radar somewhere's...

Oh thought I'd add a pic of the ECM, I cant believe people make something different that the OEM's on this type of deal. You'd think that would be a hard to beat platform. I guess not
